If so, they say that the past and future other worlds do not exist, only what is seen here exists. As much as the objects of the senses are, that is all there is to a person. What the virtuous lady of much learning says is like the tracks of a jackal. Like this, besides the single valid cognition of direct perception, they do not accept inference. Since that is the case, you, the Charvaka, think that the other world does not exist because it is not a direct perception of the senses? Then, is the very fact that the other world is not a direct perception itself a direct perception or not? If you say it is a direct perception, then non-existence would become a direct perception, and therefore non-entity would also become a direct perception, so non-entity would become entity, because non-entity is a direct perception. In that case, since non-entity has no opposite, entity would also become non-existent. If entity and non-entity do not exist, then the existence of the four elements and the non-existence of the other world would also disappear. If it is not a direct perception, then since it is not apprehended by it, how can you infer that the other world does not exist? Therefore, the cause of beings is the four elements such as earth, etc., the nature of which, according to what reason is explained in the scriptures, can become the object of your Charvaka's mind, is it the nature of the mind's proximate cause, or do those such as earth exist in its nature? For the extremely coarse, visible objects, in which there is thick darkness of mind, existing in this world, how can it correctly understand the extremely subtle other world that has become the object of the gods' eyes? It is impossible to understand. Just as seeing blurry things like hair and two moons, it is not reliable to see other things with unclean eyes. Second, to prove that such a thought of the Charvaka is a thought that is inverted to the reality of things, and to refute the argument with examples. First, when the Charvaka denies the other world, saying that there are only the four elements in this world, and other than that, there is no cause to go from here to the other world, or from the other world to here, therefore, it should be recognized that the Charvaka himself is looking at the nature of knowable things in an inverted way. Because the slander is the basis of the form of his view, or similar to a cause, or equivalent to having a body. When the nature of the four elements such as earth, etc., clings to the unreal as real.

Acknowledging existence itself is the same as having a view that has the same basis of support. To see the nature of knowable things as it is, is to have a mind that contradicts the reality of knowable things themselves. In this case, the next world exists, but this person sees it as non-existent. If asked why this is considered a perverse view, it is because the denier has the form of a view, which is also because they have the same basis of support. That is, because the source of the view that holds there is no next world, the basis or the person who holds that view, is present. When the next world exists, or when it is not yet a basis due to doubt, until then, it becomes the same basis for denying the next world. Thus, for the materialists, when they realize that the nature of earth, water, fire, and wind exists, they also have the same basis of support for that view. There are two situations at that time: one is when they understand the nature of earth, water, fire, and wind, and the other is when they slander the next world. One of them, because it is categorized as one side, in order to show the other side as an example, that is, when they acknowledge that the nature of earth, water, fire, and wind exists, it is just like that time. It is said. If it is thought that realizing the existence of the nature of earth, water, fire, and wind itself is not perverse, therefore the example is not established, then the answer is: it is established, because earth, water, fire, and wind are not unborn. Similarly, for those who slander the all-knowing, and those who say there is reality, those who say there is no reality, and those who say there is Ishvara, and those who say there is time, and those who say there are atoms, and those who say there is essence, and those who say there is nature, etc., and others besides them, when they speak according to what they see, they should all be associated with perverse views. Thus, when refuting the perfectly enlightened Buddha, one should understand that one's own self is viewing the nature of knowable things with a perverse view. Add the view, etc., as mentioned above, because one wants to refute everything such as viewing existence and non-existence. If asked: you also have the same fault, then the answer is: because we do not have an example to establish a perverse view. It is said. How is it? When realizing that the other world exists, one should understand that one's own self is viewing the ultimate truth of the nature of knowable things with a view. My view
