Just refuting a little. If, because there is no object of grasping, it is devoid of the grasping that is other than that, and if the other-powered entity that is empty of the two, grasping and grasper, exists in the ultimate sense, then by what object-possessor will the existence of this be known? It is not permissible to say that it also exists without being apprehended by any mind, because it would be too extreme. Secondly, refuting the valid cognition of realizing the existence of other-poweredness, self-awareness, and the way in which the existence of other-poweredness cannot be established without valid cognition by refuting it. There are two parts: First, a brief statement by way of a pledge, and then a detailed explanation by way of reasoning. First: Moreover, it is contradictory for that other-poweredness itself to experience itself, for oneself to do it to oneself. Swords and, lamps, eyes, fingers, etc., cannot be established by the example of a handle, and it is not by another, because it is contradictory to want to establish oneself. Secondly, the way in which self-awareness cannot be established by way of inference, the way in which self-awareness cannot be established by direct perception. First, there are two parts: establishing the reason and, refuting it. First: If self-awareness exists, the reason is that it is established from the memory of the object-possessor experienced in the past, because there is the memory of the object of seeing this meaning, and the memory of the object-possessor of experiencing I saw it, if, like yesterday, there is no self-awareness other than the object-possessor, then no one has seen the knowledge of the object-possessor of yesterday, so how can it remember itself? If one's own eyes have not seen oneself, then the thought that the shape of my eyes is like this will never be remembered, like this, self-awareness is established by the reason of the object-possessor's memory. If the one who experiences it is definitely one of self or other, if it is other, then it will become infinite, because the former knowledge needs the latter decision. It will become non-decisive of other objects, because the former knowledge becomes the object of the former and the latter, and nothing other than it appears. Secondly, there are two parts: refuting because memory has not been established as the reason for establishing self-awareness, and refuting because even if self-awareness is allowed to exist, it cannot be known as memory. First, in order to establish that self-awareness is not established in the ultimate sense, therefore the reason for memory The stated reason, just as sound is impermanent, establishing the object of grasping as the reason, memory has not been established as the reason for establishing self-awareness, this memory is not the reason that can be established, how is it not established? Because the self-characteristic of things

If it is said that it is established from the perspective of (self-awareness), then memory cannot be completely established, therefore it is not established. Even from the perspective of worldly convention, memory with self-awareness as its cause is not established, just as there is no smoke without fire. Just as its result cannot exist without it, because self-awareness as the cause is still not established, so its result—the existence of memory—is also not established. Just seeing water and fire does not necessarily mean that there are water crystals and fire mirrors, because they can also arise from other sources such as rain and rubbing wood. Similarly, even if there is no self-awareness, there is a way for memory to arise, then memory cannot be established as an infallible sign that self-awareness exists in all cases. The second part includes the main point and the incidental explanation, which is the way memory arises even without self-awareness. The first part includes: directly explaining the reasoning of refutation, and showing that this reasoning can also destroy other differences in answers. First point: If it is said that consciousness experiences both the object and its own nature, therefore the establishment of self-awareness is necessary, even if it is allowed to be established, even so, later memory cannot recall both the previous consciousness and the object, because according to your view, the previous experiencer and the consciousness that remembers now are essentially different. Just like the self-awareness and object experience of the loving consciousness that arose in the previous continuum, because it has not been experienced before, it cannot be known through immediate apprehension. Second point: Because it is "other," this reason can destroy and prevent all differences that believe that memory can arise even if it is "other," such as believing it is one continuum, or believing it is cause and effect, etc. The second part is about the view of one's own school. So, how do you remember in your own view? Because the previous consciousness experienced the object, and the present consciousness of memory, in my view, is not "other" established in essence from the previous experience, therefore, people will not think that yesterday I saw, the object of memory and the experiencing consciousness are both "other." This is just the habit of worldly convention, if analyzed, it cannot be established. If the Consequentialist says, are self-awareness and the alaya consciousness existent or non-existent in convention, then, from the perspective that there is no establishment of them in convention, we admit that they are non-existent. But this does not mean that they are completely non-existent in convention.
