However, the word "empty" never shows, because the eye is abandoned based on "the eye is empty of truth." That is, no matter what analysis is done on a vase, etc., this sentence "there is no true establishment" implies that although there is no true establishment, the unreal appearance like an illusion. Therefore, if the absence of truth is well understood, it will not only become the emptiness of mere negation. Then, will it become the emptiness of non-negation (ma yin dgag)? In reality, it is not so, because the eye is proven to be without truth, so it cannot be established that it is not empty of truth at all. Then, in this case, why not just say "the eye is empty" instead of adding "the eye is empty by the eye, there is no need to add true establishment"? Even if it is not said that way, saying "empty by truth" establishes that meaning. Even if that meaning is established, if it is said that "the eye is empty," then it is only understood as not being truly existent. If it is said that "the eye is empty of truth," then even if the eye is not truly existent, it exists in name, and it is understood that these two are not contradictory. If that absence of truth is added, then "the eye is empty by true establishment" is very reasonable and easy to understand, but considering that, one cannot add words such as "the eye is not empty of self-nature, but is empty of other-nature." If it is added in that way, it may be possible only from the perspective of words because the opposites are different, but it is not possible from the perspective of the meaning of the words, because just as the eye is empty of its own self-nature, in name, the appearance of the eye is infallible. That eye, which is empty of self-nature, is the Dharma-nature or self-nature of the eye that appears in name, as it is said in the "Entering the Middle Way": "Because this is its self-nature, therefore the eye is empty by the eye." If the eye is not empty of its own self-nature, then it is impossible to be empty of truth, so the eye becomes not being emptiness of self-nature. Being empty of other-nature, because one's own self-nature is not empty, is not the self-nature of that Dharma, just as the flower in the sky does not exist, it is not the self-nature of the flower that grows in water. If a Dharma is empty of other-nature, if a Dharma is not empty of its own self-nature, then no wise or foolish person would assert that it is its self-nature. Therefore, it must be admitted that the self-nature of all Dharmas is emptiness. It must be thought that all Dharmas are empty of their own self-nature, before one's own self-nature is not empty, even if the Dharma is empty of other self-nature, how can it become its self-nature?

If emptiness and non-emptiness are admitted to be different dharmas, then, even if there is no cow on a pot, who could admit that the absence of a cow is the nature of the pot? Similarly, if a childless widow and flowers in the sky, etc., must also be admitted to be the nature of the pot, then such an admission is a laughingstock for worldly people. The Madhyamikas would never admit it in any way. Because non-inherent existence and emptiness have the same meaning, why can't non-inherent existence be the nature of the pot? If non-inherent existence cannot be the nature of the pot, then emptiness is also not possible, so it can be admitted. This refers to the fact that the nature of the pot is empty, and the pot is nominally established as non-inherent existence. If the nature of the pot is not empty, but is empty of other inherent existence, then the meaning of non-inherent existence is not like this. Such non-inherent existence is not the nature of the pot, even if the nature of other dharmas does not have inherent existence, the nature of the pot itself must be an existing nature, which is impossible, because the fault that has been established above is unavoidable. Therefore, the nature of the pot is not empty, empty of the inherent existence of other dharmas, which means that the other dharmas must be established as empty, and the dharma that is not empty itself, as the nature of that dharma. In short, the scriptures say that the pot, which is nominally accepted, is empty of inherent existence, which is established without fault in both meaning and name. However, if the phrase "the eye is not empty of the eye" is added on top of this, then this admission becomes flawed, and as long as this admission is not abandoned, it will hinder the eye from being established as truly empty. Therefore, do not always say that all dharmas are other-empty, not self-empty. The so-called self-empty and other-empty refer to the fact that when using the intellect of the emptiness of the pot to observe, if the nature of the pot is empty or not empty, if it is empty, it is self-empty, and if it is not empty, it is other-empty. Therefore, in nominal terms, it is meaningless to associate emptiness with non-emptiness, because there is no observation that points to the ultimate truth, or it is not specified in the ultimate truth, then it is impossible to observe in nominal terms, because this kind of intellect is also unreasonable in nominal terms. As the scripture says, "From where does your birth come?" If you observe with the intellect of ultimate truth, then both truths are
