If it is said that the fruit exists because the sprout and the fruit are definitely different from each other. Then, the reason to be established is the same as the thing to be established, so there is no reason. If it is said that seeing is believing, what reason is needed? Then, seeing is believing is also reasonable only if the fruit exists in the cause and condition, otherwise it cannot be established. Similarly, if we examine the cause and effect, even if it is not in the aggregation, although the cause is not directly beneficial to its own fruit, it indirectly benefits it, gives the power of the cause, then this cause will stop. In this way, since it is admitted that cause and effect are in sequence, it is unreasonable for the fruit to exist in the aggregation. If it does not benefit the fruit, it will become causeless. Even if the cause stops, it does not stop without having an effect on the fruit, but it stops after giving the fruit the ability to produce, if you think so, because the two times are different, one part of the cause stops because of impermanence, and one part stays at the time when the fruit is produced, it becomes permanent. If the fruit does not exist when the cause exists, then who should the cause give to? Just like you can't give food to a child in the time of Maitreya (Maitreya Bodhisattva). If the cause does not produce an effect, does not apply benefit, does not give power and stops, then the fruit will become causeless, and the entity of the cause that gives power and the cause that stops will become two causes. If the cause stops without giving power to the fruit, then the fruit produced by the exhaustion of the cause will become causeless. Second, refuting arising from simultaneity: Because before and after is unreasonable, if it is said that the aggregation of causes and the fruit arise at the same time, just like a lamp produces light. Then, the producer and the produced, like the left and right horns, will also become simultaneous, so they will not depend on each other and cannot become cause and effect. The cause itself does not have the ability to produce fruit before it is produced, and when it has the ability, the fruit has already been established, so the cause is not necessary. Third, refuting arising from a later aggregation: The Samkhya school believes that something that did not exist before will not be newly produced, things exist in the future before the aggregation of causes and conditions, the substance of causes and conditions is only to guide the previously existing substance to the present state.

If the fruit were to arise with its own nature before the assembly of causes and conditions, then there would be no dependence whatsoever on causes and conditions, and those fruits would arise without cause. In that case, faults such as the existence of mountain rabbit horns would occur. Second, refuting that the cause produces the effect is divided into two: refuting by examining the cause, and refuting by examining the effect. The first has five parts: refuting production by negating the cause, refuting by examining connection and non-connection, refuting by examining seeing and not seeing, refuting by examining contact and non-contact, and refuting by examining emptiness and non-emptiness. First: Other schools assert that the effect is produced only by the cause, not by the assembly. Moreover, the examination of "the cause ceases after giving, or ceases without giving" and so on is not applicable, because cause and effect are not different entities; the cause ceases and then becomes established as the very nature of the effect. If the cause ceases and then its very self becomes the effect, or if it transforms its state, then the cause will be constantly changing, that is, it will become impermanent, and it should not become the arising of a previously non-existent effect, because that would merely be like a dancer changing costumes. Since cause and effect are one, how does the effect arise anew? Because the cause is permanent, the cause that arose previously should also arise again, which is unreasonable because it is unnecessary. The cause has ceased, it has now disappeared, it does not exist in the slightest, how can it produce the already produced effect? It does not produce it. Second: If it is not produced because the cause has previously ceased, but is produced because it exists, then how can the continuum that is connected to the effect, if it exists, produce it? Because the effect already exists, and the cause has not changed, how can it be the cause itself? It cannot be the cause. If the cause and effect are not connected, because they are not connected, how does it produce the effect? If it can produce even if it is not connected, then one cause will produce all effects, or it will not produce a single effect. Third: Does the cause produce after seeing the nature of the effect, or does it produce without seeing? If it sees, then the effect must exist, and if the effect already exists, then it cannot be the cause. If it does not see, then what does it produce? It does not produce anything, and if it produces, then it will produce everything. The term "seeing" means "object." Because there are no senses, this is impossible for seeds and so on.
