Because it is destroyed without having the opportunity to deteriorate. Just as the aggregates were previously examined, no sentient being is either bound or liberated. Even so, if it is said that bondage exists because there is attachment, etc., which is the cause of bondage, then whom does it bind? How does it bind? Does it bind something that has or does not have attachment? The former is not bound because it has already been bound. The latter is not bound because it is contradictory, like the Tathagata. If it is said that bondage is caused by attachment, etc., then something with attachment will not be bound because it is meaningless. Something without attachment will also not be bound because it cannot be bound like the Buddha. Therefore, there is no third thing to be bound, so when will it bind what? It will not bind. Furthermore, just as the binding object, such as iron chains, existed previously, and the object to be bound, Deva, was bound, if the cause of bondage, such as attachment, existed previously, then it should bind, but it does not exist. Because one cannot rely on something without a basis. If bondage was established previously, then later there is no need to be associated with the object to be bound. And for the object to be bound that has been established as different from bondage, there is no need for bondage. If, before the person to be bound, there is the bondage of attachment, etc., which is the cause of bondage, then it depends on bondage, but that also does not exist because it has no basis. The remaining refutation is shown by preventing the act of going between what has gone and what has not gone. For the time being, bondage does not bind, etc., should be translated. Even if bondage is prevented, does liberation exist because there is an opposite? It does not exist, because something that is temporarily bound will not be liberated, because these two things are contradictory. Something that has not been bound will also not be liberated, because it has already been liberated, just as there is no need to untie something without iron chains. If it is thought that something that is being bound is being liberated, then these two contradictory things, bondage and liberation, will exist at the same time. Third, refuting the faults of others is, if there is no bondage and liberation, then from the ocean of suffering of samsara, there is no protector, when will one be completely liberated from suffering? Because learning the path, etc., is unreasonable, is it meaningless? All dharmas have no self-nature, are the same as illusion, etc., and Nirvana is attained through inverted conceptualization.

Oh, clinging to the idea of "I" and the Nirvana to be attained as belonging to me, this shows that it is an obstacle to Nirvana. I will be completely liberated from suffering without clinging. The Nirvana without remainder will become mine in the future, like this, if someone arrogantly clings, that is clinging to the idea of "I" and "mine," clinging to appropriation, which is a great perversion. As long as one does not separate from it, one cannot attain the supreme liberation, only by abandoning clinging can one attain liberation. Therefore, those who desire liberation should completely abandon these, and through the wisdom of realizing reality as it is, see the true nature, that is, the ultimate Nirvana, there is no newly produced, nor is there the Dharma nature of eliminating the existing Samsara, then what is Samsara? And what is Nirvana? There is nothing to examine, nothing. The second is examining bondage and liberation, which is the sixteenth chapter. The seventeenth chapter is about the discussion of examining karma and its result. The connection of the Sutra: For the lineage of the noble ones, there is neither karma nor the meaning of the ripening of karma. The connection of the discussion: Because there is a connection of karma and result, there is Samsara. If there is no Samsara, it is impossible for karma and result to be connected, because the accumulator and the experiencer are not connected, so what is done here, how can it mature elsewhere? For such a rebuttal, there are two ways to show the selflessness of karma and result: the text and the name. The first has three: following other texts, how to abandon the extremes of permanence and annihilation, refuting the answer to the fault. The first has two: briefly showing karma, and explaining the classification of karma. The first is: What is karma and result? Whether it is well protecting oneself from the misdeeds of the three doors, or helping others, or loving-kindness to others, these are Dharma, because that is the seed of the satisfactory ripening fruits in this life and the next, because it is a unique cause, just as the rice seed is the cause of the rice sprout. In contrast, entering into misdeeds, the mind that does not protect, and harmful thoughts and violence, should be known that this is not Dharma. The sound of Dharma itself
