Therefore, if things exist, they would be subject to the fault of annihilation due to the continuous cessation. The second is the investigation of whether things have inherent existence or not, which is called the fifteenth chapter. The sixteenth chapter is the chapter on investigating bondage and liberation. The connection of the sutra is: because form is unborn, there is no bondage and no liberation, and so on. The connection of the chapter is: if it is thought that the nature of all things exists, because samsara, nirvana, bondage, and liberation can be determined, if these are established, even so, in order to show that these are not established, it is divided into two: the text and the name. The first part is divided into three: refuting samsara, refuting bondage and liberation, and eliminating the faults of others. The first part is: like this, the samsara and nirvana to be established, and the bondage and liberation that can establish it are unreasonable. The first point is not established, because both the aggregates to be taken and the sentient beings who take them are unreasonable for samsara. If it is said that the five aggregates of appropriation go from one realm to another and thus transmigrate, if these aggregates are permanent, then they do not transmigrate, because permanent things do not change. If they are impermanent, they also do not transmigrate, because momentary things cannot go elsewhere. For the sentient being who takes, if it is also examined with permanence and impermanence, then it is impossible to transmigrate, and the reasoning process is the same as this. If it is said that it is not the same, because the person who cannot be said to be permanent or impermanent transmigrates, then for the aggregates, elements, and sources, the person, the self, is as previously stated, like fire and wood, etc. If one searches with the five modes of being one essence, different, having, the basis, and the dependent, then it is like the son of a barren woman, non-existent. Then which person will transmigrate? They will not transmigrate. If it is said that without the aggregates of existence to be taken, a person may transmigrate, if one thinks so, it is okay, but if there is no existence as the cause of being designated as samsara, then that is not possible. Moreover, if existence must be transformed from the appropriation of a human to the appropriation of a god, then it is not possible without abandoning the former. If the former is abandoned, then between the former and latter existences, there will be no existence, that is, no other aggregates. In that case, the person at that time, because they are separated from the aggregates of appropriation that are the cause of designation, they become non-samsara. If it is thought that there is no interval, then the existence of gods and humans will exist simultaneously. In that case, it will become two persons. Moreover, all samsara will occur simultaneously.

Here, if we follow the fear, one thinks that if the samsara is existence or aggregates, and the samsara-goer is different from it, if such a person revolves in existence, does only the person revolve without depending on the respective acquisitions of existence, or does he revolve from acquisition to acquisition depending on the respective acquisitions? If it is like the second, the existence of gods and humans cannot be taken simultaneously, and if the former must be abandoned and the latter taken, then the person who abides in each of the former and latter existences is not one, so it is each of the two that is not, and for the person who abides between the two, there will be no existence. If there is no existence of gods and humans for him, and no acquisition on which it is based, then he is nothing of a samsara-goer. Thus, since he is separated from existence and acquisition, what is the meaning of revolving? It seems that there is none. If each of the former and latter is a separate person, then it will be impermanent and multiple. If this is the case, the previous fault remains. If such a samsara-goer abandons the acquisition of a human and revolves to the acquisition of a god, then between the two there will be only acquisition, and there will be no existence and aggregates to be acquired. If there is no existence in the middle, and it is separated from the aggregates of acquisition and does not exist, then what will the samsara-goer, the self, revolve? Because it is separated from the cause of establishing it as a samsara-goer. Also, samsara exists because there is its opposite, nirvana. If this is thought, then nirvana is not established, because it does not exist in the nature of action and sentient beings? Even if it exists, whether it is permanent or impermanent, nirvana will not be established, because how can the aggregates of action be extinguished, and it is not reasonable in any way, so after observing the constant and unchanging and the momentary destruction of impermanence, it is refuted as before. If it is only sentient beings and the inexpressible, and it is examined as before, then it is also unreasonable how it can be extinguished. Secondly, even if samsara and nirvana are refuted, bondage and liberation exist, and because they exist, samsara and nirvana are established, because being bound by attachment and so on, one does not go beyond the three realms. If this is thought, then bondage and liberation do not exist, because it is easy to understand that there is no bondage and liberation for constant action, so it is not explained. Here, for the nature of action that arises in the first moment and is destroyed in the second moment, afflictions do not bind beforehand, and will not be liberated later, because the moment of arising is already established, and from that
