Since that which has already been established as the agent has no second action to accomplish it again, therefore, that action is not the action of the agent, and it will also become an action without an agent. Similarly, that which has become action has no action of the agent, because being action means that the nature of the action itself possesses action or has already been accomplished, and there can be no second action. Therefore, this action cannot be newly done by anyone, and even if one wants to call this action the agent, in essence, it never has action. In that case, it must also become an agent without action, but that is impossible because there is no basis for establishment. In short, the agent and that which has become action must be established in dependence on each other. If these two exist without dependence, they will become an agent without action and an action without an agent. In that case, the agent will not be an agent, and the action will not be an action. If one thinks that what has not become an agent does what has not become an action, then because it has not become an agent, calling action itself action has no cause, and without action, the agent also has no cause to be called an agent. Thus, if both action, work, and agent have no cause, then in general, the results to be produced by causes, such as pots, and the causes that produce results, such as wheels, are also not reasonable, because the reasons are the same. If there are no such causes and effects, then the action of accomplishing a pot, the agent potter, and the material clay itself cannot be considered accomplisher. In that way, if the three, such as action, are not reasonable, since there is no pervasion, then the white dharma to be accepted and the non-dharma action to be abandoned do not exist. If there is no dharma and non-dharma, then the fruits arising from them, such as desirable and undesirable, also do not exist. If there is no fruit, then liberation, which belongs to the category of fruit, and the path to becoming heaven are also unreasonable. In that way, if there is no cause and effect, then all the activities of worldly people, such as farming, will become meaningless endeavors, which is unreasonable, so do not make this slander that "what is not an agent does what has not become an action." Furthermore, the combination of what has become an agent and what has not become an agent does the combination of what has become an action and what has not become an action.

If you think like that, it is not possible, because the two, what has become and what has not become, on one agent and one action, contradict each other like light and darkness, how can they exist, so they do not exist. Second, refuting the inconsistent agent and action is divided into three parts: refuting one agent doing one action; refuting one agent doing one action and both; refuting both doing one action. First, the proposition: the agent who has become cannot do the action that has not become, and the agent who has not become cannot do the action that has become. The reason is: here also the same fault as before will be committed. For the four, the agent who has become, the action that has not become, the agent who has not become, and the action that has become, in order, are: if it has become, there is nothing to do, if there is no agent, the action can be done. And, if it is not done, then the action has no cause. And, if it is not done, then the agent has no cause. And, if it has become, there is nothing to do, if there is nothing to do, the agent is also useless. These have already been said. Second, the proposition: the agent who has become, together with the action, cannot do the action that has not become, nor can he do the action that has become and has not become. The reason is as mentioned above, in order: if it has become, there is nothing, if it has not become, there is nothing, if it has become and has not become, how can they exist because they contradict each other. Similarly, the agent who has not become, together with the action, cannot do the action that has become, nor can he do the action that has become and has not become. The reason is as mentioned above, in order: the agent who has not become, if it has become, there is nothing, if it has become and has not become, etc., are all the same as before. Third, the proposition: the combination of what has become and what has not become, which contradict each other, cannot separately do an action that has become and an action that has not become. For this, the reason should also be understood through what has been said before, in order: what has become and what has not become, what has become is established, what has not become, etc., all of these are expressed in two sentences as before. Second, only in terms of names are they separately established: then, you have refuted that the establishment of cause and effect, agent and action is unreasonable, then for these.
