If it is something that can be pointed out, then in the other three commentaries: "Why would that arise? If it exists, it will not arise." Therefore, it is said that if it exists now, it will not arise again. In the outer translation, although it can be established as "How would that arise?", if such a thing does not exist at any time or place, then what would arise? Because the act of arising has no object to apply to. Second, analyzing whether there is another arising for arising: If the arising of this other dharma causes the thing that is arising to arise, then what causes the arising of this other dharma itself to arise as if it is arising? To this, if another arising causes it to arise, then another arising is needed to cause the arising of that arising, so it will be endless. For example, eating requires cooking, cooking requires fire, fire requires flint, etc. If it is never possible to exhaust its causes and conditions, then the time to eat will never come. If that arising arises without relying on another arising, then all dharmas of things will also arise in the same way without relying on another arising, because the reason is the same. Second, refuting from the perspective of the result: For the existing result, it is not possible to arise through arising; for the non-existent result, arising is also unreasonable; moreover, it is impossible for it to be both existent and non-existent, so arising is unreasonable. As said before: "For things that do not exist or exist, causes are not reasonable." This has already been explained. Second, separately refuting three: refuting arising, refuting abiding, refuting ceasing. First: For the present dharma that is ceasing, arising is unreasonable, because there is the act of ceasing that contradicts the act of arising. If it is not ceasing, then it cannot be a dharma, so it has no arising. Second, there are three: analyzing three actions, analyzing ceased and not ceased, and the same way as the previous reasoning. First: If the act of abiding, this other dharma, causes things to abide, then the abiding of things is not abiding, because it is impossible for there to be two acts of abiding in one abider, just like a traveler walking. A thing that does not abide is also not abiding, because there is no act of abiding. Abiding is also

Because there is nothing apart from the two, abiding and not abiding, therefore (it does not abide). Furthermore, how can an unborn thing abide? Because it does not exist, it is contrary to abiding. Secondly, when a thing is in the process of decay, it is not reasonable for it to exist because it is contrary to it. If it is not in the process of decay, then it is not a thing, so where is the abiding of the characteristic of a thing? It does not exist. Therefore, if all things are by nature constantly aging and dying, then where is the abiding thing that does not age and die, that is, is contrary to the two? It is impossible. Thirdly, it is not reasonable for something else to make abiding into abiding, and for abiding itself to make itself abide. Just as it was shown above that it is not reasonable for birth to be caused by oneself and others, because it would lead to infinite faults, and there would be a contradiction between the agent and the object in oneself. This abiding is not abiding, how can one's own nature abide? And, if by another abiding, then that abiding will become endless. Etc., these quotations have been translated. Thirdly, refuting destruction is divided into two: stating the reasoning of harm, and abandoning the similarity to oneself. The first has five parts: examining the action, examining the support, examining the cause, examining whether the thing exists or not, and combining the previously stated reasoning. First, if we examine from the three times, then what has already been destroyed will not be destroyed, because it has already been destroyed. What has not been destroyed will also not be destroyed, because the action of destruction has not arisen. What is being destroyed will also not be destroyed in the same way, because there is nothing else, and what has not arisen, how will it be destroyed? Because it does not exist. Secondly, for a thing that abides, destruction is not reasonable, because the two are contradictory. For a thing that does not abide, destruction is also not reasonable, because there is no abiding, or there is no thing to be destroyed. If it is thought that the result arises after the cause is destroyed, then the state of the cause, milk, that state of the cause, milk, will not destroy itself, because there is a contradiction between the agent and the object in oneself. The state of the result, yogurt, by another state, the other state of the cause, milk, will also not be destroyed, because that
