No matter how close the relationship, don't speak unnecessary secret words. When secret words are spoken to women, look at how most people fall. Not all words cannot be spoken, not all words need to be kept secret, and not all words should be spoken. When the time is right to discuss, don't exaggerate, speak to the point. Praise makes the world happy, and in the next life, you yourself will be happy. Therefore, for the virtues of others, don't be jealous, praise them. If you praise others, you yourself will be praised by others. As much as you belittle others, that much you yourself will be belittled by others. Those with little merit and jealousy only belittle others. Doing so will not harm others, but will only ruin your own reputation. Those with wisdom and merit, even for the small virtues of others, will speak sweetly and beautifully. In that way, you yourself will gain a good reputation. Praise is the adornment of the world, but for the foolish and arrogant, it is poison. Do not praise anyone with hypocritical words mixed with lies. Praising to the face and slandering behind the back, like a snake with two tongues, such a wicked person is of no use. Speaking meaningful words is the adornment of the world. Even if the benefit of giving is great, speaking harshly will make others disgusted. Not giving, not helping, not protecting, but speaking sweetly can unite the world. An arrow that pierces the point without planting, medicine that enters the body without drinking, the taste of honey that captivates the mind without eating, these are the differences of words. Most become enemies or friends, few arise from other matters, most arise from words. Therefore, speak after thinking about the words. Words that are not spoken at the right time, the one who speaks them will be despised by everyone. Appropriate words spoken at the right time, good words can benefit oneself and others. Even if a great rain falls, how can it fit in a small container? Even if you teach those with low wisdom, it is impossible to produce great benefits. Kind and virtuous

For a wise person, even a brief word can be of great benefit. Beneficial words are like medicine, and those who speak and listen to them are rare. To distinguish, gossiping words should not be spoken, let alone listened to. Even if it is worth listening to, observe and wait until it is certain. If there are too many harsh words, the retinue will disperse. Lies will destroy oneself and others. Meaningless words will lose meaning and gathering. Therefore, these should be abandoned. From this point on, regarding words, there are many faults and merits. After understanding them separately, know what to say and what not to say. Because there are various kinds of good and bad people in a large country, it is difficult to subdue foolish and unruly people even with beneficial words. Draw a line with fair laws, and for those who violate these, announce that such punishment will occur, let them hear it. If appropriate punishment is not given to those who cannot be reformed, unruly people will increase and the country will be destroyed. Therefore, first do as said before. Protect those who benefit the retinue and the people, etc. Know who is beneficial to the king's affairs, and praise them with beneficial words. Even if appointed as an official, if he takes sides only for his own desires, expose his key flaws and warn him to stop such behavior in the future. Those of royal lineage who possess Dharma, because they cherish their retinue like children, first advise them gently, rather than punishing them from the beginning. If this is done, it may be possible to turn most people back from the wrong path. Even if they cannot be turned back in any way, they will not have the thought of opposing the master. Good people should be praised, and the status of bad people should be degraded. Wherever there is a human lord who distinguishes between good and bad like this, good people will be happy, and bad people will become cautious. Conversely, bad people will occupy the entire land and destroy the state power. The human monarch should examine well and not change the words he has spoken. It is widely said in the world that "the king's word is only once." Former kings who possessed Dharma would not change whatever arose from their commands. If the laws that have been well established are changed again, the value of the command will be reduced. For a human lord who is skilled in speaking, he is as bright as the sun in this world.
