With life and wealth, fame widely spread, Extensive happiness in this and future lives. Though the supreme method of giving can accomplish, Evil thoughts and attachment to possessions cannot. By nature wavering, devoid of essence, Though tightly held, one day will surely be abandoned. Enjoyment is like a bubble in water, Why not strive to give and take its essence? Giving is the adornment of the world, Giving turns back the lower realms. Giving is the ladder to higher realms, Giving is the peaceful virtue. If you wish to obtain inexhaustible enjoyment, Cultivate great delight in giving. Consider its ripening result, Haven't you seen the benefit in this life? Fools exhaust their own strength, Accumulating wealth to pass the days. Only suffering will be obtained, What use are desires when old? Wondrous wealth is extremely pleasing, Playing together with youthful maidens. The realm enjoyed by the lord of humans is delightful, Like a magic show deceiving children. Therefore, do not be attached to wealth, Make offerings and give as much as possible. To those who are helpless and without protectors, Give the gift of fearlessness and refuge. To the world, like the blind, To enable the eye of wisdom to discern. The immaculate gift of Dharma, Should be bestowed by the lords of the earth. Due to ignorance, in this cycle of existence, Those who helplessly experience suffering. With one's own body and possessions, etc., With all that one owns. How can all suffering be eliminated, May it be transformed into happiness. In all directions and endless times, Generate the thought of a great being. Taking the fast on time, Or possessing constant vows. This lord of humans in the heavenly realms, Truly practices the kingship of the gods. Things that are causes and non-causes, Like the earth, exist as a support. All the qualities of liberation and happiness, Are said to rely on discipline itself. Guard speech, well restrain the mind, Do not engage in non-virtuous deeds with the body. If these three paths of action are purified, The path spoken by the sages will be attained. One's self abides in the conduct of the ten virtues, And also establishes all the retinue in it. With various means of benefit and happiness, The powerful and mighty kings should act.

Like inherent nature, those of bad character, untamed, are many among the people of degenerate times. Who can destroy them all? If one abandons one's own anger, it is like destroying all enemies. Among all austerities, patience is praised as the most excellent. When driven by the cause of anger, one harms involuntarily, those who know the nature of things will not become even slightly angry. A body pleasing to behold, like the color of gold, holding the posture of a young lotus, becoming the ornament of the eyes of the world with form, the incomparable supreme body is accomplished by patience. Having overcome all sufferings, accomplishing great deeds without hesitation, enduring the profound Dharma-nature with wisdom, one walks fearlessly like a lion. All the complete and prosperous glories of the world and beyond, if accomplished with diligence, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. When the mind delights in the true abode, spreading like a flame, then even difficult things become helpers like firewood. Those who rule with great power, their power and skill are not inferior, the four objects of gathering the six perfections, act vast like the sky and the ocean. Even looking with joyful eyes, if the stream of poverty is not cut off, it is said not to be great power, therefore, one should accomplish great deeds. Writing letters, making offerings, giving alms, listening, reading, receiving, explaining, reciting, contemplating, and meditating, these ten practices of Dharma, for the sake of immeasurable accumulations of merit, lords of men should strive to uphold the sacred Dharma of the Victorious Ones. All that one does oneself is the same, in causing others to do, kings, because they have great power, should establish a great and virtuous tradition. A person whose mind is distracted is like being carried away by the waves of a river, agitated by a collection of afflictions and sufferings, freedom and happiness are always difficult to obtain. What is the use of being tormented by a hundred labors and exhausting the body? When the acting mind is tamed, it is like liberation being nearby. If the mind is not tamed, then with beautiful saffron robes and, Brahma cords and bunches of kusha grass, how can evil thoughts be pacified?
