In order to attain (Bodhi), I too shall learn its ways. From beginningless time, again and again, these beings who have become parents, helplessly tormented by the three sufferings, what sentient being would not generate compassion? In order to place sentient beings, as limitless as the sky, in a state of benefit and happiness, if one generates the supreme Bodhicitta, one will reach the other shore of merit. The self-arisen mind that is the basis of Bodhi, whenever it first arises, its qualities and praises are boundless, and even the incomparable cannot fully express it. From the "Treatise on Discipline, Ornament of the Earth," the nineteenth chapter on the analysis of how to contemplate the Dharma is complete. Father and son are inherently the place of karma, from this place to the other is the place of fruition, whatever is done in this place, will surely be experienced elsewhere. Even small virtues and sins will each produce great results. Since one is born in the place of karma, why not sow the seeds of virtue? The holy ones abandon even small sins, while the wicked do not mind even great ones. The eyes avoid even dust, but the hand touches flames. The body is like a bubble in water, glory and wealth are as fleeting as autumn clouds. Recognizing the nature of the unreliable perfections of samsara, one should be inclined to generosity. Wealth that is accumulated but not used, it is uncertain whose it is, it cannot be determined, but if given away, the result is very great, it will follow one in the next life. If you want to accumulate wealth into a great treasure that will not be exhausted, you should not accumulate and be stingy, but should give and rejoice. Enjoying much, but the benefit is small, giving little, but the result is great. Giving is the gateway to increase, but fools fear exhaustion. What children are particularly attached to, the wise do not become attached to. Like a king's splendid chariot, one should always observe this body. What one is particularly attached to with stinginess, the wise do not become attached to. Like the honey gathered by bees, one should always observe this wealth. The good lord is like a garden full of lotuses, when the fragrance of giving spreads in all directions, the beings on earth who feed on flowers will gather joyfully and be happy.
