In the end, many destroy themselves. Like the dosage of food and medicine. Whatever you do, whatever it is, If you know the dosage that suits the time, You will not be tormented by great ruin. If you always want to be friendly, These three things should not be done: Gambling, financial dealings, and, Secretly speaking of women. Like a warrior on the battlefield, The qualities of the wise are known by the wise. A fool regards the wise and the foolish, Stones and jewels as the same. A noble person with qualities, Even if he is near a fool, The fool does not know his qualities, Like an owl when the sun rises. A wise person knows from afar, What qualities a person has, Through words and deeds, Like fire from the sign of smoke. When entering the battlefield, a warrior is known, When wealth is exhausted, a wife is understood, The one who helps in times of ruin, Is found to be a friend. Unprofitable trade and those with retinues are harmed. Begging and being arrogant, being poor but desiring pleasure. Speaking harshly to young women, Are said to be five inverted behaviors of a man. Doing what is beyond one's ability, Being hostile to the community, opposing the strong, Trusting women, Are said to be four things that reside near the Lord of Death. Understanding knowledge incorrectly is poison. An old man serving a young man is poison. Being indifferent to illness is poison. A poor man being fond of sleeping is poison. Eating unripe food and unsuitable food, Having intercourse, lying down, and sleeping during the day, Having intercourse with old women, Will take away the strength of the body, avoiding it will increase it. Wherever there is no benefit, Actions and conduct, Food and lodging and servants, etc., Should be carefully examined and completely abandoned. Omens and the final results of thoughts and actions, etc., Whatever is beneficial and auspicious to oneself, Relying skillfully on place, friends, time, etc., Things will be accomplished as desired. Do not be too affectionate to relatives, Do not torture enemies too much, Do not let the king's law be too lenient, Nor should it be too strict. Until the age of five, discipline sons strictly, Until the age of ten, beat them like enemies, After reaching the age of sixteen, Treat sons like friends. Be kind to the retinue and punish them when appropriate, Punish enemies and be kind to them when appropriate, Cherish women and control them, Employ servants and provide for them with wealth.

Do not overemphasize minor matters, and do not forget important affairs. Do not delve into trivial tasks, but handle significant matters with care. Since it was not taken from me, one should not covet the wealth of others. Without reasons such as retaliation, do not seize the sovereignty of other countries. For those who are greedy for the wealth of others, their wishes will not be fulfilled, and they will quickly turn to self-destruction due to the unbearable consequences of karma. Therefore, even if one possesses power, do not torment others. Those rulers who do not torment others will have their own rule stabilized by merit, and all directions will submit. In the degenerate age, it is difficult to have longevity, wealth, and fame all together, so one must accumulate vast merit and be skilled in methods. If one works skillfully with methods, even difficult things can be accomplished, just as poison can be transformed into nectar through mantras and other methods. Sharpness and speed that are inconsistent with the world are only for quickly achieving one's own benefit. Even if one is called a hero in the degenerate age, they will not grow much like a small pond. Those who live in accordance with the world, even if they do not manifest immediately, will one day grow vast and stable in wealth like a great ocean. It is better for a wise person to say a word at the right time than for a fool to try to remedy things diligently. Actions with skillful means, even if small, will bear great fruit. Virtues without skillful means have little fame and are criticized as faults. If one possesses skillful means, even faults will be transformed into virtues, and fame will be great. The fruit of the Nyagrodha tree and the mustard seed are the same size when they fall on the ground, but when they gradually grow, their sizes will not be the same. Among people who are similar in their own class, those with virtues will grow with years and months, and will eventually surpass everyone else. Therefore, those who understand their own benefit should not waste the day, but strive to recite, accumulate merit, and study and practice what should be done. To want to eliminate sins, have faith in the Sugata. To want to exhaust merit, evil thoughts will arise. To want to end lineage, foolish and mute people will be born. To want to eliminate bad luck, want to accumulate merit. Unruly people come out of the ground, and the evil snake of bad words seizes the noble person. The antidote to pacify that poison is the supreme medicine of wisdom and patience.
