Appearing as flames pervading the sky, at this time, one's own body appears as a luminous, empty house, and the appearance of five lights emerges outward. When this arises as self-appearance, due to the nature of awareness naturally abiding in meditation, one will be liberated through the key of recognizing the expansion of appearances as one's own radiance. In the first instant, one recognizes; in the second, one is liberated upon recognition; in the third, one dissolves into primordial purity upon liberation. Then, due to the merging into the union of luminosity, and the key of the luminosity of the heart possessing the five Buddha families and realms, from the radiance within the heart, mandalas of the five Buddha families, hundreds, thousands, millions, and countless numbers, will appear. As stated in the *Uttaratantra*: When the moving winds increase, lights and rays of five colors, uncertain rainbow patterns appear. From the winds that enter and ripen, the four directions, intermediate directions, and above and below are established. There, as the lights of the directions gather, the bodies of the five families also appear distinctly. Blue, white, yellow, red, and green, each appears with its respective consort. If one knows how to make offerings and hold to this, the qualities of all the Buddhas are perfected. It is not entering the three realms. As it is said, at this time, one's own body is also clear as light, and due to the movement of the winds of wisdom, all appearances, from the rainbow patterns of the five lights, through the winds of wisdom entering, all directions, intermediate directions, above and below, are perfectly complete. Within the appearance of the five interconnected bindus and subtle bindus arising, the light of the five Buddha families, The mandalas of the five Buddha families, unimaginably, appear like brocade corridors. As stated in the *Sun and Moon Union Tantra*: That is also called the luminosity of the male merging into union. Again, those appearances naturally arise in the form of bodies. Those bodies are neither large nor small, but equal in size, possessing ornaments, colors, postures, seats, thrones, and their respective hand gestures. Those bodies are also pervaded by pairs of five, each group of five possessing a halo of light, the families holding the male aspect, the families holding the female aspect, bodhisattvas and bodhisattva mothers, all mandalas abiding completely in one. Thus it is said. That is also stated in the *Quintessential Instructions on the Three Times*: At this time, one should remember the key instructions on the place of knowing entry. First, awareness entering into light is, as stated in the *Sun and Moon Union Tantra*: At that time, light shines from one's own heart.

A very subtle thing arises, and it appears to be connected to the hearts of all those deities. If one grasps one's own awareness there, one naturally abides in non-conceptual meditation. This is called awareness entering into light. As it is said, from one's own heart, rays of light, like threads, pierce the hearts of all those mandala deities. If the mind grasps this appearance, one will abide in natural meditation for five days. Although that appearance arises at once, definite wisdom is gradually attained. On the first day of meditation, on a basis like the cloudless autumn sky, the mandala of Vairochana arises from blue light. Similarly, on the second day, Akshobhya arises from white light. On the third day, Ratnasambhava arises from yellow light. On the fourth day, Amitabha arises from red light. On the fifth day, Amoghasiddhi arises from green light. They unite with their respective consorts, bodhisattvas and their consorts, and doorkeepers, male and female, thus the mandalas of the families arise. At that time, if one recognizes it as one's own appearance and abides in it, then wherever one recognizes the nature of one's own family, one attains liberation there, and having benefited sentient beings through emanations, one dissolves into the realm of primordial purity. Secondly, awareness entering into light: From the Union of Sun and Moon, "Then, in one's own heart, a thread of light arises, like a skein of colored threads. Then, the appearance arises that all those deities dissolve into one's own body. This is called awareness entering into light. At that time, individuals should have faith in their own appearance and remember the supreme method, like a child entering its mother's lap." As it is said, from the hearts of the mandala deities, rays of light pierce one's own heart, and as a result, the mandala deities gather and dissolve into oneself. The outer appearances, like light resembling a child, dissolve into one's own awareness, like a mother, in the heart. This is the instruction of like a child entering its mother's lap. At that very moment, recognizing one's own nature, one is liberated into the primordial realm in five instants of Ati Yoga without difficulty, because of the key point that the body is clear as light and one has innate clairvoyance and meditation. That is, in the first instant, one recognizes one's own appearance; in the second, one abides in the recognition; in the third, one is liberated from the abiding; in the fourth, from the liberation, emanations arise to benefit sentient beings; in the fifth, etc.
