·Wa·Betsek translated "སྔོན་" as "before," but in reality, it means "ahead." The Sutra states, "The All-Knowing One sees that whatever form one is born into, one has that form." Therefore, from now on, it means what is to come, referring to what will happen immediately without being interrupted by other things. As for the difference in how one cycles: Previously, the appearance of the clear light of Dharma-nature arose, but because it was not recognized as self-appearance, one repeatedly cycles in the Bardo of Existence (Sipa Bardo). Although there is no flesh and blood body, due to the habitual clinging to the body, the mind-body is like a reflection in water, appearing as if it exists. This is because the seed part exists in the Alaya, so it is the body that holds the name of existence and the name of arising. As the "Union of Sun and Moon" says: "The so-called Bardo of Existence is the beginning of the path of the place of Samsara. It revolves like a water bucket. Separated from the body of flesh and blood, it is an illusory mind-body. It is the second name separated from the gross." The difference in sound, meaning, and definition is: the appearance of Dharma-nature disappears, and it is the appearance before obtaining the real body of any of the six realms of the future. Because there is no multitude of happiness and suffering, it is called the Bardo of Existence. It says: "The appearance of the previous consciousness ceases, and the future one has not yet arisen." The difference in the form or characteristics of the body is: it is similar to the form in which one will be born. If one is born as a human, then the Bardo is also in the form of a human. If one is born as an animal, then the Bardo also appears as the form of an animal, and so on. If one is born elsewhere, one still has the form of the previous body. For example, when transferring from the realm of gods to the realm of humans, the Bardo still has the form of a god. Therefore, there will be no change in the attachment and desire for human parents, etc., because there are such faults, so it is said. However, in that Tantra, it says: "Because it is not certain which kind, at the time of disappearance and appearance, it is the intermediate state of momentary existence. Afterwards, it possesses the characteristics of what will be born. After fully possessing the characteristics of what will appear in the future, it transforms into the appearance of each of the six realms." Also, the teachings of the Wisdom Dakini Niguma, the unerring teachings of the Three Bardos recorded by Kyungpo Naljor, also say that within the first four and a half days of the first week, it is still the body of the previous birth, as well as the appearance of places, homes, wealth, and relatives.

Etcetera, starting from "At that time, no consciousness will arise in the bardo." Then, just after three and a half days have passed, the appearance of the body of the next life will briefly appear, and one will not be able to endure the previous body. As it is said, for the first half of the first week, that is, more than three and a half days, the appearance of the previous form, etc., will appear; from the second half, starting from less than three and a half days, the body, clothes, ornaments, etc., of the body to be born in the next life will appear. This is the difference between the habit of the previous life looking back and the beginning of the near arising of the next life. The difference in the body is: although there is no coarse body of earth, water, fire, and wind, the four aggregates such as name depend on the very subtle and clear elements of earth, water, fire, and wind. Therefore, except for those who share the same place and kind and those who have pure divine eyes, others cannot see it. In Jambudvipa, one intermediate state being who is about to be born can see other intermediate state beings who are about to be born in the same continent, but cannot see intermediate state beings who are about to be born in other continents, such as Videha. From this, it can be inferred that intermediate state beings who share the same place and kind can see each other, but intermediate state beings who do not share the same place and kind, and sentient beings of the six realms who have not attained clairvoyance, cannot see them either. Even the clairvoyance of the divine eye can only see because it is free from eleven faults. Other than that, even if there are other clairvoyances, they cannot see. Therefore, for the body gathered by consciousness, there are three types: coarse, subtle, and very subtle. The coarse one is like the body of ripening result during life, the subtle one is like the body of dream habits during life, and the very subtle one is like the body of gods in the formless realm and the mind-made body of the intermediate state. Therefore, there are also four differences in the names of the intermediate state: because of the subtle habits of earth, water, fire, and wind, although there is no coarse form, it appears as if there is a form, so it is called "intermediate state with a body"; it feeds on odors and is approached by karma, so it is called "fragrance-eating near-goer"; because it is between the previous life and the next life, it is called "intermediate state of rebirth," which is the moment of connecting the aggregates; although there is no coarse form and faculties, it can see everything because it has the faculties of karma and habits, so it is called "possessing all faculties, unimpeded turning." The difference in power is: although it does not display the illusion of various magical transformations, it has a power similar to swift feet, being able to reach any place it thinks of in an instant. The difference in faculties is: karma and
