This appearing is the primordial protector Kuntuzangpo Unchanging Light. Know that he dwells in the heart center, in the state of the three bodies inseparable. That is, in the Long Drugpa (Six Spaces), it says: "Awareness, Vajra Rosary Continuum, merely seeing it, one knows; merely knowing it, one realizes; merely realizing it, one is liberated." And: "The essence of one's own nature, not by words of expression, but by the clear appearance in the realm of the senses, is the nature of naked seeing liberation." And: "In the Lamp Illuminator, it says: 'Thus, the various appearances, are not produced by doing and meditating, but are originally abiding in the ground.'" As it is said, originally without doing, self-arisen, self-manifest, the three bodies inseparable, the mandala of clear light is seen face to face, so strive in meditation. Thus it is said. Third, explaining the instructions on how to meditate on the four supports. That is, in the Space, it says: "The four instructions on the supports, it is impossible to be without them after the former." As it is said, the four are: establishing the foundation on the three immovables, measuring the standard of the three abidings, nailing the pegs of the three beginnings, and showing the degree of liberation of the four cushions. First, establishing the foundation on the three immovables is: In the Transformation, it says: "Therefore, have faith in the support, establishing the foundation on the three immovables, the wind and mind will reach the essential point." As it is said, among the three postures of sitting, one should be immovable, that is, when the body is immovable, the channels are immovable; when the channels are immovable, the eyes are immovable; when the eyes are immovable, the wind is immovable; when the wind is immovable, the mind is immovable. Thus, the moving thoughts are cut off, and awareness abides immovably. Among the three ways of looking with the eyes, one should be immovable, that is, the essential point of awareness is the channel, the essential point of the channel is the door, the essential point of the door is the lamp. When the channel is immovable, the eyes are immovable; when the eyes are immovable, the lamp is immovable. Thus, when the mind is immovable, discursive thoughts do not arise, and there is the state of Dharmadhatu awareness inseparable. Awareness is to be immovable from seeing the clear light appearance directly. That is, the compassionate awareness outwardly appearing like a clear mirror, the clear light appearance arises unceasingly, without being obscured by grasping and clinging, allowing it to self-arise and self-liberate, the doorways of the four appearances will become clearer and more stable. Second, measuring the standard of the three abidings is, as mentioned earlier, the three abidings

Having grasped the measure, dreams are reversed, and body, speech, and mind, signs and measures are identified. Thus it is said, by abiding in the realm of awareness with reason, three stable measures of abiding arise. When the wind that generates external appearances ceases, the realm of awareness abides without coming or going. When the wind that generates the inner aggregates ceases, the body abides without movement. When the wind that generates secret thoughts ceases, conceptual thoughts, the cause of illusion, abide impossibly. At this time, the measure is grasped by dreams, and the signs appear on the three aspects of body, speech, and mind, these two occur. For those of supreme diligence, dreams dissolve into the realm and are interrupted. For those of intermediate diligence, dreams appear as clear light. For those of lesser diligence, dreams are known as dreams. The signs that appear on the three doors are twelve, with three each for the four appearances. First, the three signs of the direct experience of reality are: the body is motionless, like a turtle placed in its shell. Speech is like a mute, unwilling to speak. The mind is like being seized by a dakini, appearing scattered but actually having a focus. Second, the three signs of increasing experience are: the body is like a person afflicted by illness, devoid of radiance and the charm of adornment. Speech is like a madman, unpredictable and babbling. The mind is like a person poisoned by a toxic plant, resolute in not turning back from samsara. Third, the three signs of awareness reaching its measure are: the body moves unimpeded through the five elements, like an elephant emerging from mud in an instant. Speech is like a parrot chick, whatever is said benefits others and inspires faith. The mind is like a person cured of smallpox, gaining certainty in not regressing from the three realms. Fourth, the three signs of the exhaustion of reality are: the body is like a corpse in a charnel ground, surrounded by executioners but without fear or shame. Speech is like an echo in a valley, the subject of speech is exhausted, repeating the words of others. The mind is like a mist in space, vanishing in an instant, the accumulation of habitual patterns disappears, and Buddhahood is attained. Third, the peg of the three attainments is driven in firmly. From the expanse: By driving in the peg of the three attainments firmly, the contaminated aggregates become invisible. Thus it is said, first, obtaining mastery over birth: the appearance of the aggregates ceases, so they do not appear as solid objects. If one wishes to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, by focusing awareness on one's own fingers, all those appearances revert to oneself, and by appearances like the moon in water, one accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings.
