In the sky free from circumstantial conditions, look west in the morning and east in the evening, or to make the clear light appear easily, combine with light rays and look east in the morning and west in the evening, about a cubit below the sun. As it says in the *Thal 'gyur* (Transcendence): "The place is free from obscuration." And in the *Klong gsal*: "It becomes clear in the three free from conditions." Therefore, being free from circumstantial conditions is empty space, being free from sensory conditions is a lamp in water, and being free from locational conditions is a clean, tall, and secluded tree. Focusing the mind on the objects of the senses, without making any modifications of hope and doubt, relax and meditate naturally. The outer space, being like a mirror, opens the door of appearance. One's own pure space, called a lamp, is like the face of the master. Initially, it gradually spreads from a vast expanse of dark blue light, appearing as bright as a rainbow in the sky or the colors of a peacock's tail. As it says in the *Lamp Burning*: "Even in the five clear colors of light, this itself becomes very clear." In its center, there is what is called the lamp of the empty *thig le*, like throwing a stone into calm water or like the inside of a bubble, initially just vaguely visible. Then, a red, round, clear, and radiant *thig le* appears. Within it, something similar to the mind of the master of the *Vajra Garland of Awareness* appears, as fine as a knot in a horse's tail, or a golden thread, or a string of pearls, or a wire mesh, or a bouquet of flowers, or a flower net naturally present, initially appearing vaguely and indistinctly with movement and vibration. Therefore, guide it by the way of looking, place it in the enclosure of space, stare intently, and without corrupting it with discriminating thoughts of right and wrong, the awareness of the one who is looking and the nature of awareness itself, just knowing how to look without wavering, meditate, and it will become more and more stable and clear. As it says in the *Thal 'gyur* (Transcendence): "One's own *Vajra Garland of Awareness*, without going or coming, travels in the sky." And in the *Rigpa Rangshar* (Self-Arisen Awareness): The light body endowed with the five wisdoms, is very stable in the *Vajra Garland*. It also has flashing and coming, movement and vibration. And as it says in the *Senge Tsal Dzog* (Lion's Perfect Strength): "This object of self-arisen awareness, exists in the *Vajra Garland of Wisdom*." Thus it is said. Without making any modifications created by conceptual thought, but rather the self-nature of space and awareness.

When looking, the outer appearance does not cease, and the inner clinging is not defiled. Because of abiding in the self-nature that is inexpressible and free from elaboration, the subject and object are indistinguishably mixed. The appearance of luminosity disappears from the brow, appearing without clarity or obscurity. If the appearance of luminosity becomes unclear, or dissipates to the left, right, above, or below, do not let the eyes and mind chase after it, but guide it with the way of looking. As before, it appears, without focusing too much effort. By meditating in this way, the wisdoms of the four visions will gradually appear. Furthermore, it is also said that after mastering the three basic postures, one should also learn the seven branch postures, such as "Tiger, vomit, garuda, and man, fox, vulture, giant, and six, crocodile posture, seven key points of the body." In general, not only should one mainly practice the garuda posture, but for beginners, it is also good to mainly practice the dharmakaya lion posture. In this way, temporarily, it can cause the wisdom of awareness to manifest, abide in its own nature, and purify disturbing thoughts. Even if one's life ends here, one can be liberated as a nirmanakaya, and ultimately the four visions will be perfected, and one will achieve the state of no residue. Thus, fortunate individuals with excellent faculties, after going through the stages of practicing the direct realization of the Great Perfection Tögal, the profound pith instructions of the secret wisdom essence, that is, how to practice the extremely secret wisdom essence, are divided into two: increasing appearances during the day, and merging wisdom into the essence at night. First, increasing appearances during the day, that is, outer appearances, inner awareness, in short, for any dharma that includes samsara and nirvana, it is not defiled by the stains of clinging, and is not bound by the clinging of experience. However it appears, it arises like a dream or illusion, and the mind of emptiness is also beyond existence or non-existence, right or wrong, good or bad, acceptance or rejection. Abiding in a state free from elaboration, like space, without any abandonment or establishment. In the state of subsequent attainment, do not let awareness run wild, but with mindfulness and recollection, be certain that all dharmas that appear in this way are like illusions, mirages, reflections of the moon in water, emanations, or cities of gandharvas. Even for a moment, there is not a particle of reality to be found. Practice diligently in this way. Similarly, attachment and aversion, acceptance and rejection, hope
