From... Turning and entering the ranks of Buddhism. In particular, one will not fall into the lower realms, and will become the basis of all vows. One will not be obstructed by any obstacles from non-humans, etc. Temporarily, one will have fewer illnesses and a longer life, etc. And one will purify the obscurations accumulated in the past, and perfect the two accumulations, etc. It is said that the benefits are extremely great. As it says in the "Seventy Verses on Refuge": "Taking refuge in the Three Jewels of the Sugata, is the root of the eight vows." And in the Nirvana Sutra: "Whoever takes refuge in the Three Jewels, will increase the accumulation of merit and wisdom, will increase the victorious Dharma of the world, and will ultimately attain Buddhahood." Thus it is said. Secondly, the root of the Great Vehicle is the instruction on generating the mind of enlightenment: Lord Maitreya said: "For the sake of others, one desires perfect and complete enlightenment, that is the generation of the mind." Shantideva said: "Once the mind of enlightenment is born, in an instant, those miserable beings bound in the prison of samsara, are called the sons of the Sugatas, and are revered by the gods and humans of the world." Thus it is said, therefore one should generate the mind of enlightenment. Just as the ten directions of space, no matter how measured, have no end or center, so too the realms of the world are immeasurable. All of these are pervaded by the six kinds of beings without any gaps. Each of these beings has been one's own parents, and the number of times is countless. From beginningless time, they have given us immeasurable benefits, and are the kind ones who have saved us from all harm. Therefore, we should be grateful and remember their kindness, and think well of the kindness of our parents in this life. Like this, our parents in countless lifetimes have been protecting us, but we do not recognize each other. Therefore, how can it be right to divide beings into enemies and friends, and treat them with closeness and distance? These beings desire happiness, but because of ignorance and lack of skill, they only create suffering, so that their wishes and actions are completely reversed, like madmen, it is truly pitiful. Thinking of one's former parents suffering in the lower realms, and being unable to save them from there, is like one's own mother being carried away by the flood, and oneself searching for a rope to retrieve her. Now that we have finally found the path of liberation, at this moment we must attain omniscience.

In order to quickly attain the state of perfect and complete enlightenment of a Buddha, if I am unable to liberate all sentient beings from the great ocean of samsara, what could be more shameful than myself? In this state of possessing the two aspects of bodhicitta, recite the words of generating bodhicitta such as "I and limitless sentient beings..." to the best of your ability, blending it with your mind, and then practice the giving and taking (Tonglen) of happiness and suffering in conjunction with breathing. Then, rest briefly in a state of non-conceptualization, free from elaboration, without fixating on the giver, the act of giving, or the recipient of bodhicitta, and finally dedicate the merit. Among these, having a good intention to place all sentient beings in the state of unsurpassed enlightenment is aspiration bodhicitta, and not only having such an aspiration, but also putting into practice the means to accomplish it is action bodhicitta. Shantideva said, "The difference between wishing to go and going, how should it be known? Likewise, the wise should gradually understand the difference between these two and cultivate them." Thus it is said. Third, the essential instruction on Vajrasattva meditation and recitation for purifying sins and obscurations: On the lotus and moon seat on the crown of your head, there is a white A syllable (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A). From that, rays of light radiate and gather, completely transforming into the glorious Vajrasattva, inseparable from the guru, with a white body color, the right hand holding a golden five-pronged vajra at the heart, and the left hand holding a silver bell resting on the hip, embracing the consort. The feet are seated in the vajra posture, and the consort, white Vajra Kroda, holding a curved knife and skull cup, is in union with him. Both are adorned with silk and precious jewels. On the moon mandala at the heart of the father, there is a white Hūṃ syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ). Around it, the garland of the white hundred-syllable mantra radiates intensely, turning to the right. When it is clear in this way, remembering the four powers, recite the hundred-syllable mantra hundreds or thousands of times, or as much as possible, in the manner of requesting. From the garland of mantras, a stream of nectar descends like a torrential rain, flowing from the union of the father and mother, entering your own Brahma hole. All diseases, evil spirits, sins, and obscurations, in the form of smoke, pus, blood, and tiny insects, flow out from the pores, urinary and anal passages, etc., like a powerful flood washing away ashes. About this, the great teacher Padmasambhava said, "If the mind is distracted elsewhere, then...
