Look at the sky with the gaze of an arrow. Relax the awareness, and in the unmodified, natural state of self-awareness, loosen and rest without effort. That is, do not cut off the past, do not welcome the future, and do not engage in any analytical investigation of the present awareness, such as "this is this, this is not that." Instead, rest the fresh, momentary awareness, staring directly at its own face. By resting in this way, the elaborations of consciousness, such as virtue and vice, acceptance and rejection, and taking and abandoning, are pacified. The state of primordial purity (Tibetan: ཀ་དག་,Sanskrit Devanagari: कादा,Sanskrit Romanization: kāda,Literal meaning: Primordial Purity) where the co-emergent clarity and emptiness reside is the meaning of Trekchö (Tibetan: ཁྲེགས་ཆོད་). As it is said in the *Thalgyur*: "In the essence of primordial purity, wisdom, The existence of ignorance is impossible. There is no counting of one and two, In the nature of reality, undivided in anything, There is no establishment of mere wisdom." And as it is said in the *Rangshar*: "Beyond the extremes of permanence and annihilation, The stain of the four extremes is self-purified." The mind abiding in a state free from elaboration is the Dharmakaya. Clarity without clinging is the Sambhogakaya. The unceasing manifestation of various displays is the Nirmanakaya. The inseparability of essence, nature, and compassion is as stated in the *Jeweled Garland*: "Complete enlightenment is self-awareness, Essence is unchanging in the three times, Nature is perpetually unceasing, Compassion is universally self-manifesting." And as it is said in the *Thalgyur*: "In the abiding nature of wisdom, There is no separation in the manner of the three kayas." And as it is said in the *String of Pearls*: "In the primordial purity from the very beginning, The name 'delusion' cannot even be spoken. Likewise, what is non-delusion? Therefore, delusion is primordially pure." Such is the meaning of primordial purity. The three aspects of "Chokshyak" are as stated in the *Precious Lamp*: "From the nature of the three Chokshyak, The meaning of primordial purity is revealed." Secondly, resting awareness nakedly as it arises: In that state, whatever subsequent consciousness arises, do not conceptualize it, do not deliberately grasp it, do not scatter, do not protect it, and do not make any alterations. By simply recognizing its own face, conceptual thoughts dissolve on their own. For example, just as any waves that arise in the ocean do not go beyond the nature of the ocean water, so too, whatever conceptual thoughts arise, by staring directly at the face of what arises, it is like throwing a knotted snake into the sky.

also naturally liberated. That is because it says in "Primordial Liberation": "This awareness that appears, Like a snake knot, is naturally liberated. Because there is no antidote, there is no need for effort, The essence itself is primordially liberated." Also, as it says in "Subtle Arrangement": "Unobstructed potential can manifest anything, At the moment of appearance, it is liberated in its own place. Liberation is just a word, Likewise, what is non-liberation?" Thus it is said. Therefore, for any thought that arises, abandon anticipation and welcome, do not do any negation or affirmation, but allow it to rest in its own arising nature, which is to make thoughts the play of dharmata as the path. For this, the way to leave awareness naked is: although outer appearances radiate in various ways, the mind is not moved by appearances, like a mural in a temple; although inner appearances appear in various ways, there is no clinging to them, like a person in a dream; although the six objects appear in various ways, there is no hope or fear, like the consciousness of a child; the movement of thoughts subsides in itself, like salt dissolving in water; there is no fixation on whatever arises, like a madman. At that time, if one abides, one returns to the original state; if it radiates, it appears as the play of wisdom; if it is equal, it rests in the state of equality, so no matter how one abides, one does not go beyond the play of dharmata. Therefore, it does not matter what kind of thoughts arise, whether virtuous, non-virtuous, or neutral, but by staring directly at the self-nature of whatever arises, it becomes naturally liberated and abides, thereby gaining self-possession. Third, introducing the union of abiding, moving, stillness, and insight. That is because abiding in oneself through meditation and the movement of thoughts are inseparable. Abiding and moving are like the same person walking and staying. Stillness, which is the pacification of thoughts in oneself, and insight, which is seeing reality nakedly without obscuration, are also the same in the essence of meaning. That is to say, from the perspective of outer objects, appearances do not cease, while from the perspective of inner objects, there is no defilement of clinging, and appearances and mind are inseparable. Clear, bright, open, vivid, naked, direct, and flashing appearances arise. When these appear, do not make any adjustments or changes, but simply observe and rest in their natural state. Fourth, combining whatever appears with the causes and conditions of self-liberation. First, the self-liberation of the three poisons. It does not matter which of the three, desire, hatred, or ignorance, arises, for a beginner, it is impossible to use the suppression of thoughts as the path. Therefore, the form of these three
