Therefore, it is extremely important to repeatedly meditate until unbearable fear arises from the depths of your heart and bones. Third, the instruction on contemplating the faults of samsara is: If you think there is nothing to fear even if you die, because after death you don't need to be reborn and consciousness will completely disappear, then what is there to fear? But that's not the case; consciousness does not disappear. It cannot transcend the good and bad realms. If you are born into the three lower realms, you must endure all kinds of intense, prolonged, and unbearable suffering. Even if you are born into a happy realm through contaminated virtue, you cannot escape the wheel of suffering, as we have all clearly witnessed. Therefore, great karma leads to hell, medium karma leads to the realm of hungry ghosts, and small karma leads to the animal realm. Therefore, first contemplate the suffering of hell. Hell is divided into hot and cold. First, the characteristics of the eight hot hells are: a ground of burning iron, filled with valleys or ravines, populated by fierce birds and beasts, hell guardians and executioners, and many untamed beings. Molten copper and corrosive liquids pour down violently, flames an inch long burn continuously, surrounded by circular iron walls, turning into a terrifying and horrifying place. The intermediate beings born there, in the state of the intermediate state of existence, experience unbearable cold, like being driven by rain and wind. When they see the hot hell, they develop a desire for warmth, and like waking from a dream, they are immediately reborn. Their bodies are sixteen cubits tall, and they are unable to withstand even the slightest suffering in both body and mind. According to the degree of suffering, they are divided into the Hell of Revival, the Hell of Black Lines, the Hell of Crushing, the Hell of Weeping, the Great Hell of Weeping, the Hell of Heat, the Hell of Great Heat, and the Hell of Uninterrupted Suffering. First, the Hell of Revival is: beings hate each other with intense animosity, attack each other with weapons, and repeatedly die and revive. Some suffer from a rain of weapons falling from the sky, their bodies split into hundreds and thousands of pieces. At this time, a voice comes from the sky saying, "May you be revived!" or because of the breeze, they are immediately revived, but this suffering will only cease when their karma is exhausted.

The Hot Hells are where people are roasted like fish on iron skewers as long as their height. They are beaten with burning iron hammers, pierced from the crown of the head to both shoulders and from the anus to ashes with a three-pronged spear, and pierced from the anus to the crown of the head with a one-pronged spear. They are placed in iron pots and suffer in the burning embers of hell. There are unimaginable sufferings such as nailing nails into limbs and tongues. The Extremely Hot Hells are where molten iron and copper are poured into pots and boiled whole until flesh and bones melt, leaving only skeletons, which are then spread on iron ground, immediately reviving, but still being boiled, opened with openers, and with iron hammers and. Molten copper is poured in, burning the mouth, throat, and all the internal organs, and finally flowing out of the lower body like water, etc., there are unbearable sufferings. The Uninterrupted Hell is where the body burns like a tree trunk covered in oil, and apart from miserable cries, one cannot distinguish between the flames and sentient beings, and the flames are hotter than the fire at the end of an eon, and the higher the level, the lower levels are seven times larger, and the difference in heat is. As stated in the Abhidharma: Fifty human years are one day and night in the lower heavens of the desire realm. Therefore, the lifespan is five hundred years. The top two layers are both doubled. The six layers, including Revival, are in order. The same as the lifespan and day and night of the desire realm gods.
