Now being in control, when concentration becomes special, two unfavorable factors arise, dullness and agitation, at this time not applying the antidote, and when dullness and agitation are abandoned and abiding, if the overly strong antidote action is powerful, it will also become a fault, these are the five faults. The eight antidote actions for abandoning faults are: From that, abiding and abiding on it, the cause and the result itself. Not forgetting the object, dullness and agitation and conceptualization, the manifest antidote action of abandoning them, abiding naturally when pacified. Thus, laziness is abandoned, the four are aspiration, effort, faith, and pliancy. The place of effort in practicing the instructions is aspiration, and abiding on it is diligent effort. The cause of arising aspiration is faith, and the three doors being completely tamed and workable is the result of effort.

It is in order to mature the capacity and subdue the mind-stream. Among them, some dull individuals do not have the fortune to practice the Completion Stage for the time being, so there is no choice but to practice the Generation Stage. Since they will become qualified for the Completion Stage later after being accustomed to the Generation Stage, it is necessary to practice the Generation Stage. Even if a person of medium capacity can practice the Completion Stage a little from the beginning, if the Generation Stage comes first, the realization of the Completion Stage will be easily generated, and obstacles and deviations will not occur, so it is also necessary to practice the Generation Stage. Although a sharp person can traverse the higher paths without obstacles by the Completion Stage alone without relying on the Generation Stage, it is better if the practice of the Generation Stage comes first, because it will be more effective later and the path will be traversed faster. Therefore, for those who wish to generate the wisdom of the Completion Stage by accomplishing and abiding in the samadhi of the Generation Stage, this method of sequentially showing the Three Vajra Yogas, etc., is said to be like the rungs of a ladder, and one must proceed sequentially to the upper rungs after the lower one has reached its end. As it is said in the Yoga of the Night: "Relying on the former and the former, accomplish the latter and the latter." Therefore, there are two: the Generation Stage and the Completion Stage. The first is: If one has already received the complete four empowerments or just the vase empowerment in this mandala before, there is no need to mention it. If one has not received it, then at this time, by fully receiving the vase empowerment with detailed rituals, one should ripen one's mind-stream and then enter the practice of the Generation Stage. There are two types: the extensive method, which focuses on the Generation Stage, and the method of learning the abbreviated Generation Stage, which is only a basis for the Completion Stage. The first is: "First, for the extensive stage, if you like it, practice according to its instructions, just like the sadhana." That is, in the method of learning the Generation Stage, there are two types, extensive and abbreviated. If you only want to enter the extensive stage of sadhana, then how should you learn the sequence of its instructions? It is to be practiced as it is said in the root sadhana, the Mother Tantra. In the root sadhana, it says: "There are three stages of practice: generating sequentially with wisdom, the Completion Stage, and the Great Completion."

"It is truly explained in three places." As it is said, outwardly, like the mandala of the victorious ocean, placing the mandala externally; inwardly, placing it on the body; secretly, placing it on the channels; and most secretly, placing it on the mind. As it is said, the limb of outer practice and approach is the generation stage. The mandala drawn externally with lines and colors is taken as the object of focus. The yogi who practices this, within the imagined support of the four-sided, four-doored palace, meditates on the deities as the main figure and retinue, according to the ritual. This expands the mandala of the union of appearance and emptiness, so it is called placing the mandala externally. The limb of inner practice and the limb of secret practice, the activity, are the completion stage. Inner practice takes as its object of focus the fact that the body itself abides as the dharma of the spontaneously accomplished mandala. Meditating on this body as the body of the deity, believing in the support as the palace, transforming the deities that are primordially accomplished into forms with faces and hands, and meditating on them, is in accordance with the inner heat of the body mandala. Therefore, it is the means of enwrapping the body as the deity of luminosity and emptiness, placing the mandala inwardly on the body. Secret practice takes as its object of focus the fact that the five chakras of the channels are primordially accomplished as the mandala of the lotus. Taking the chakras of the channels as the nature of the support, transforming the essences of the channels and elements into the forms of deities and meditating on them, is in accordance with the bliss of the body mandala. Therefore, it is the means of enwrapping the body as the deity of bliss and emptiness of mind, placing the mandala secretly on the channels. The means of introducing the meaning that these are primordially perfected as the result, the limb of most secret practice, is the Great Perfection. Taking as its object of focus the fact that the nature of mind, the indestructible vajra, is primordially accomplished as the great mandala, and ascertaining with wisdom that all conceptual thoughts are the nature of the wheel of the mandala, and introducing it, is placing it most secretly on the mind. Thus, the inner and secret are the body mandala, which is extremely profound in accordance with the yoga of inner heat and bindu. The most secret is pure mindfulness, so in meaning, it does not deviate from the yoga of the generation stage, but it has become a special cause for the arising of the wisdom of the completion stage, so it is called the Completion and the Great Perfection.
