Inhale and hold. Having done that, even if you hold your breath for a long time, if there is no discomfort or pain, it is said that you are accustomed to it. Third, if you feel bored, learn verbal recitation: Maintain the posture of the body and focus your mind single-pointedly on the form of the deity. Then, regard the three—appearances, sounds, and thoughts—as the rotation of the deity, mantra, and wisdom, and strive single-pointedly in the recitation of the three syllables (Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ,Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ,Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ,Literal Chinese meaning: Om), Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ,Sanskrit Devanagari: आः,Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ,Literal Chinese meaning: Ah), Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ,Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ,Literal Chinese meaning: Hum)). Then, visualize around the Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ,Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ,Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) at your heart, the garland of the mantra to be recited, as if written with extremely fine dark blue pigment, coiling to the right. From there, rays of light emanate, offering pleasing offerings to the body, speech, and mind of all the Buddhas and their retinues in the ten directions. Visualize all their compassion and blessings, like snowflakes falling into the ocean, dissolving gently in the form of light into the garland of mantra and its seed syllable at your heart. This is the recitation for collecting blessings for one's own benefit. Again, the light shines as before, touching all sentient beings, purifying all sins and obscurations. Visualize them being placed in the realm of Great Bliss. This is the recitation for altruistic activities for the benefit of others. Furthermore, appearances are deities, sounds are mantras, and thoughts are the rotation of the wisdom of dharmata, expanded, self and other are non-dual. This is the recitation for altruistic activities for the benefit of others. From such an object, do as much as you can of the approach and accomplishment recitation like a ritual. Third, the instruction on the luminosity of the mind, which is suchness itself, is: When concluding the generation and recitation stages, visualize yourself as the deity in union with your consort, and then practice clear appearance again. From the Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ,Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ,Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) at your heart, rays of light emanate, purifying the container and its contents into deities, dissolving into light, and dissolving into the form of the deity in union with your consort that you have visualized. Then, the consort dissolves into the consort, the consort dissolves into light, and dissolves into the Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ,Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ,Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) at your heart. It also goes higher and higher, and finally dissolves into Nada, remaining in a state free from all elaborations. When rising again from this state and entering into activity, like a fish leaping from the water, instantly arise as the form of the deity. Regard the three—appearances, sounds, and awareness—as the rotation of the deity, mantra, and wisdom, and expand them. And dedicate the merit with verses such as, "By this virtue may I quickly, attain the state of a vidyadhara guru." These are the practices of the generation stage of yoga. Second, the essential instructions of the completion stage have three parts: seeking shamatha, generating vipashyana, and meditating on union.

Ma o. First, the method for seeking tranquility (shamatha): The root text states: "In solitude, maintain the seven-point posture without moving. Then, visualize the deity's form and syllables in the generation stage. Or on a stone, tree, appearance, sound, anything at all, on the mind-essence free from fabrication and grasping, fix your attention single-pointedly, without distraction, and remain in equanimity. If distracted, again grasp the object of focus. By doing so, the mind-essence will not wander, wherever you fix your attention, you will seize the object, and remain in equanimity for as long as possible. The three doors will be filled with bliss, and you will not perceive the years, months, and days. When you remain without wavering, it is the habituation of tranquility." It is said. For beginners, in order to avoid thorns arising in meditation, one must definitely go to a solitary place where there is no traffic of people or spying of enemies, and on a cushion spread on a meditation seat, arrange the seven-point posture of the body straight. Place the eyes gazing at the space in front of the tip of the nose. Keep the posture of speech natural, letting the breath flow freely. The key point of the mind is not to cut off the past, not to welcome the future, and not to engage in any mental activity such as thinking 'this is this' or 'this is not this' regarding the present awareness. Instead, fix your gaze on the very nature of the present moment of awareness. By doing so, awareness will become clear, and a basis of non-grasping will arise. When that arises, remain in that state, without fabrication or grasping. Such a person is practicing the superior method, without needing objects of focus or anything else. However, it is difficult for most people, such as beginners and those with dull faculties, to remain in that state. Therefore, in the space in front of oneself, visualize a deity image like Vajra Garland Power, of whatever size is appropriate. If the mind is sinking, visualize a deity image the size of a thumb; if there is much agitation, visualize a deity image the size of an elbow. Until it becomes clear, do not think too much about what is good or bad, but focus your awareness single-pointedly on visualizing it. Once it becomes clear, do not be too attached, but simply look at the clear and bright appearance of the deity image, and remain without loosening or distraction. If it is difficult to remain in that state, place a deity image or a letter, or a twig, pebble, or any object of any size in front of you. Also, place a black pebble, because white is harmful to the eyes. Do not move your eyes or blink your eyelids, but simply gaze at it intently. Is that good?
