Therefore, it is explained by the speaker who is suitable for the intellectual capacity of the beings to be tamed, and the listener should also hold the meaning of what is heard, and strive to speculate with the wisdom of thought, thereby liberating the mindstream. As it is said in the root tantra: Just like a wooden puppet, bound by a binding rope, once untied, it can be easily released, and it goes without hindrance anywhere. This wooden puppet of the mind, bound by the fetters of ignorance, through the door of liberation and hearing, completely liberates the wisdom stream, and goes without hindrance. This is the liberation of the ignorant mindstream, the liberation of the binding, the practice of liberation from the mindstream, which should be cherished and practiced. Therefore, just as it is said here during the stage of the path, for all the vehicles of the mundane and supramundane, one must understand with unpretentious effort, thereby cutting off the erroneous and confusing superimpositions well. Regarding this, for example, just as a bee searches for a hive, flying around and entering, it enters and dwells with certainty in the entrance where it should enter. The yogi seeks the traces of meaning, conforms and compares what kind of behavior there is, enters and examines the door of view, in order to cut off the traces of the meaning of the nature of reality, the certain Middle Way that is not mistaken, comparing from all doors, is the method to be practiced, which should be cherished and practiced. Third, for those with the wisdom of meditation, guiding them in the manner of instruction is precisely to give instructions on the nature of meditation in the sequence of each empowerment. That is, first, at the gate of entering the path, through the renunciation of this life and samsara, and the firm conviction in the infallibility of karma and its results, remembering the qualities of the Three Jewels, like the sequence of the empowerment of opening, refuge should be taken as the path, and for sentient beings who have not realized the true nature, cultivate loving-kindness, compassion, and bodhicitta, and in the guru yoga, meditate on the entrance of blessing, as the beginning of all sessions. Then comes the actual guidance. As it is said in the Root Tantra of Illusion: The definite emergence of the four vehicles, abides in the fruit of one vehicle.

The vehicle of gods and humans, fearing the unfavorable aspects of its own results, the evil destinies, and seeking the blissful results of the heavens, thus accomplishes the basis for higher rebirth. Combined with the oral instructions of the pāramitā three levels of beings, it is the path of the lesser being. The Lamp for the Path says: 'Whoever, with whatever means, seeks only the happiness of saṃsāra for himself, know that person to be the lowest.' Thus it is said. How to meditate on that path is as follows: Abandoning the ten non-virtues and training in the ten virtues, abiding in the worldly right view, one cultivates the four immeasurables and the samādhi of the form realm. This becomes the basis for generating supramundane samādhi. Then, fearing saṃsāra and seeking the fruit of peace for oneself, is the path of the intermediate being. It says: 'Turning one's back on the happiness of existence, one's nature turns away from sinful actions, whoever seeks only his own peace, that person is called intermediate.' Thus it is said. How to meditate on that path is divided into two. First, the teaching of the śrāvakas is: Having accomplished śamatha, a mind that is workable, through the samādhi of ugliness, one should meditate on the lack of self of the individual. Second, the teaching of the pratyekabuddhas is: On the basis of understanding the arising and ceasing of dependent origination and the lack of self of the individual, one adds the lack of self of phenomena, the apprehended object, and meditates. All that is to be realized by these two must also be realized here, but what is to be attained is not to be manifested, as it is a wrong path of the Mahāyāna. Then, fearing the two extremes of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, and seeking the non-abiding nirvāṇa, is the path of the great being. It says: 'Whoever, through the suffering of realizing his own continuum, completely wishes for the complete cessation of all the suffering of others, that person is supreme.' Thus it is said. The teaching of the path of the Bodhisattva vehicle is: Endowed with the mind of aspiration and engagement, in equipoise, one meditates on the two kinds of selflessness with non-conceptual samādhi, and in post-meditation, one carries all appearances that arise as illusion on the path. Thus, after these four have definitely arisen, the ultimate is the single vehicle, the result, the gradual path of the mantra vehicle.
