If it is said to be permissible, then what need is there to say anything else? Furthermore, even if the lama possesses the realization of samadhi, how can the disciple receive empowerment if they are unable to visualize as instructed? If the disciple has faith and longing for the lineage, even if they are not skilled in visualization, they must receive empowerment through the lama's blessings. For example, even if the ritual implement cannot visualize, blessings will certainly enter it because the mantra practitioner has performed the consecration ritual properly. As it is said in the "Differentiation of the Three Vows": "Consecrating a deity and bestowing empowerment on a person, etc." Because these two have the same meaning. Someone might think: Empowerment is the act of placing the dharma of realization into the disciple's continuum, so it not only requires relying on external forces, but isn't it also necessary to rely on one's own power of visualization? Even if the dharma of realization is placed in the continuum, it is not necessarily so. For example, even if the king's son does not have his own ability and wisdom, he gains the power to rule the subjects because his father the king places the crown on his head and puts him on the throne. Similarly, like the lineage of a king, the disciple who possesses the corresponding qualities is brought into the mandala by a capable lama and given empowerment, so they must be able to gain control over their own dharma of realization. Second, regarding the analysis of illusory empowerment, as the "Net of Illusions Tantra" says: "The place of placement and the place of absorption, likewise, it is important to understand." Of these two, first, regarding the place of placement, it says: "The place is common and special, the common empowerment is bestowed on the body." Therefore, the common place for placing the empowerment substance is the body, and the special place is the vase empowerment bestowed on the crown of the head, etc. The way in which various empowerment substances are bestowed on various parts of the body is as described in the empowerment ritual. As the "Precious Wheel of Empowerment" says: "Then place the vase firmly on the crown of the head, and bathe the outer crown of the head with the outer." The "Secret Instructions" also say: "The head, heart, five limbs, etc. are the places of placement." Second, the place of absorption is to absorb into the respective corresponding elements, as the "Fearsome Thunderbolt Tantra" says: "The first is the empowerment of hearing secrets, bestowed on the ears of the jewel lineage." and so on. Fourth, the analysis of the sequence of empowerment arising from immediate causes, in general

If left unattended, as previously stated, the earlier empowerments tame the continuum, thereby ripening it so that later empowerments can be bestowed. As stated in the "Sequence of Magical Vajra": "The sequence is like a ladder, understanding depends on cause and effect, that is the characteristic of what immediately follows." The reason is that, in general, considering the way the continuum ripens, all individuals proceed gradually in stages. Therefore, in order to become the basis for higher empowerments, it is necessary to go through lower empowerments. The root tantra also states that the four rivers of outer, inner, secret, and most secret must first obtain the earlier ones in order to bestow the later ones. Similarly, in practicing the path, it is impossible to desire and enter the later ones without obtaining the signs of warmth from the earlier ones. Considering the way the conditions ripen, there is no necessity to bestow the empowerments in that exact sequence. Instead, from the very beginning, one can receive the empowerment that one favors and practice the path that corresponds to its entrance, which is not contradictory. Here in the Land of Snows (Tibet), the great Kalachakras have the tradition of bestowing the higher empowerments from the very beginning and entering the path of the six yogas. The justification for this is that there is no need to merely consider the example of the third empowerment. For those who are qualified for the fourth empowerment, from the very beginning, one can receive the empowerment of the power of awareness in the mandala of ultimate bodhicitta and study that very path, which is not contradictory. Therefore, gradual progression is not necessarily limited to being completed in this lifetime alone. Third, from the perspective of the fruit of abandonment and attainment, there are five divisions: what obscurations are purified by receiving the empowerment, to what extent is the empowerment received, having received it in this way, what Dharma is one authorized to listen to, what temporary and ultimate fruits are attained, and the necessity is to traverse the bhumis and paths. First, as stated in the "Secret Instructions": "The obscurations of karma, afflictions, and knowledge are purified in sequence." Therefore, there are three obscurations to be purified: the obscuration of karma, the obscuration of afflictions, and the obscuration of knowledge. The first is all contaminated karma. The second is all the afflictions of the three realms, primarily the mind that corresponds to self-grasping. The third is the conceptual thought of the three times. As stated in the "Uttaratantra": "Whatever conceptual thought of the three spheres, that is known as the obscuration of knowledge. Whatever conceptual thoughts such as miserliness, that is known as the obscuration of afflictions." What is to be purified is
