Nala Lhenchik Jhe. Thus, it is divided into two: the co-emergent cause and the cooperative cause. The first is that, for each of the phenomena appearing in the conceptual aggregates of the disciples, the Dharma nature of the mind that has become the Dharma nature, that is, the self-abiding, self-arising wisdom. As the Gongdü says, "Self-nature is Dharma nature." In its commentary, "Armor of Darkness," it says, "The self-nature of empowerment is inherently possessed without seeking it in the Dharma nature of one's own mind." Moreover, as the "Empowerment King Tantra" says, "If one does not have the supreme empowerment oneself, how can one obtain it through empowerment? Even if one empowers mustard seeds as rice, there is no actual appearance of rice in it." Thus it is. The second is that which possesses the substances of empowerment and blessings, that is, the co-emergent cause of the disciples. For whatever phenomena appear in the conceptual aggregates, the self-abiding wisdom becomes the reversed aspect of the Dharma nature, and each is blessed by the wisdom of the Buddhas, which is inseparable, and by special qualities, so that the substances of empowerment become capable. Secondly, the four conditions are divided into two: a brief statement of the essence and a detailed explanation of the remaining meaning. The first is that, as the "Secret Essence" says, "The four conditions for the knowledge of empowerment are: the Alaya consciousness and habitual tendencies as the causal condition, the master with empowerment as the dominant condition, the object to be obtained as the objective condition, and one attainment opening another as the immediate condition." Thus, there are four: the causal condition, the dominant condition, the objective condition, and the immediate condition. The first is that the white habitual tendencies in the Alaya consciousness are awakened or can be awakened by nature or conditions. Therefore, it is a fortunate disciple who is capable of receiving empowerment in accordance with his capacity and order. The second is that the stream of empowerment has continued uninterrupted from the perfect Buddha, and with joy, the master is able to establish in the disciple's continuum the appropriate power of empowerment. The third is that both master and disciple, without distraction, perform the pure ritual with the three perfections of substance, mantra, and samadhi, from which arises in the disciple's continuum the special power of empowerment to be obtained. The fourth is that the earlier empowerments tame the continuum, opening up the later empowerments, making it ripe and capable. Secondly, the first condition is not yet complete.

Furthermore, regarding the naming of the term "cause," it is generally explained, and the specific meanings derived from each of the four conditions are distinguished and explained. First, for the two, the causal condition being the disciple and the dominant condition being the teacher, in general, the terms "cause to be conferred" and "cause to be obtained" are used as the term "cause." In the seventieth chapter, it says, "Friends, here, the cause is only the five great resources." Regarding the meaning of this sentence, the commentary "Prophecy" says, "If one does not possess the five resources, that person is poor. Vows, meditation, wisdom, bodhicitta, and compassion are the five." In "Armor of Darkness," it says that there are two types of causes: the cause of practice and the cause to be obtained. Here, both the blessing of the lama, who is rich in the uncommon five resources, and the disciple, who is also a vessel possessing the five qualities, should be commonly regarded as the standard. Therefore, the cause to be obtained is the blessing of the lama who possesses the five resources, and the cause to be conferred is the disciple who possesses a vessel that has all or may have all five resources. The root tantra also says, "After the vessel is full of essence and understands the empowerment, it is said to be the cause of obtaining the supreme empowerment." In the commentary on this, it says, "If one abandons the faults of the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and therefore possesses various qualities, reaches the level of explanation, understands all knowledge, and possesses the wisdom to know the faults and qualities of empowerment, then it is the cause of obtaining empowerment, and is only one who possesses the five resources." Therefore, the second part explains that the causal condition is the disciple to whom the empowerment is given, the dominant condition is the teacher who gives the empowerment, and the conclusion of the objective condition includes the derived meaning, and the examination of the order of empowerment derived from the immediately following co-emergent condition. The first part is divided into two points: the characteristics of the disciple who is a vessel to be accepted, and the disciple who is a non-vessel to be abandoned. The first point is that, in general, one possesses the three qualities of faith, diligence, and wisdom, enjoys meditation, is generous in giving for the sake of the Dharma, trusts in vows, and so on, possessing these qualities. As it says in the sutra, "One who enjoys practice and meditation, always respects the lama, and makes offerings to the lama at the three times, is a disciple with qualities." In particular, as a vessel for giving empowerment, the root tantra says, "After the vessel is full of essence and understands the empowerment, it is said to be the cause of obtaining the supreme empowerment."
