There are three ways to enter: following after investigation, meaning, and letters. Therefore, following after investigation, establishing the view, must precede the practice of the path. That is, regarding the object of knowledge, by individually examining it with the reasons of valid cognition, one ascertains that all phenomena are the reality of suchness, the essence of reality, indivisible in the three spheres, beyond thought and expression. This is the tenet. Following after the meaning is the sequence of meditating on non-conceptual samadhi. Because the object of meditation, the essence of reality as it is, is the nature of the heart, the mind that meditates is placed in that state and meditates. As it is said in the General Sutra: In the reality of suchness, place the mind in suchness, in the state of non-expression, remember constantly without distraction. Following after the letters is the sequence of meditating on the samadhi of deities with signs. By merely reciting the generation mantra, like a fish leaping from the water, one practices mainly the practice of visualizing the mandala of the deity, the outer vessel and inner essence, clearly and without confusion. As it is said in the Treasury of Illusions: In the vehicle of Anu Yoga, by merely reciting the essence, one meditates as the deity of non-generation and completion. Moreover, for those of great intellect, by realizing it all at once, they bring it to completion, thus being free from the effort of traversing the stages and paths in sequence. But for those of small and medium intellect, they gradually traverse the four learning paths contained in the ten bhumis, or by means of sudden transcendence, they apply themselves to the ultimate fruit of the path of no more learning. So, what are the ten bhumis? The first is the bhumi of uncertain change, the second is the bhumi of the basis of support, the third is the bhumi of important training, the fourth is the bhumi of constant learning, the fifth is the bhumi of the support of merit, the sixth is the bhumi of surpassing through reliance, the seventh is the bhumi of" }, { "original_tibetan": "པས་འབྲས་བུ་སྐྱེ་བའི་ས། བརྒྱད་པ་གནས་པ་མི་འགྱུར་བའི་ས། དགུ་པ་བརྡལ་བ་ཆོས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་ས། བཅུ་པ་རྫོགས་པ་ཅིར་ཆིབ་ཀྱིི་ས་རྣམས་སོ། །དེ་དག་ཀྱང་། འདུན་པ་སྐྱེ་བའི་སྐབས་སོགས་ས་བཅུ", "chinese_translation": "缘而生果地,第八是不动地,第九是广大法性地,第十是圆满任运地。这些也是,生起欲乐之时等的十地。", "english_translation": "the bhumi of arising fruit through conditions, the eighth is the immovable bhumi, the ninth is the expansive dharma nature bhumi, and the tenth is the perfect spontaneous bhumi.
