When the garland master refutes this view, even though seven small pillars are needed, when drawing, when erecting these five small pillars, because each pillar is located on two small parts of a square pedestal with a vase. Since the pillar base is the same height as the skirting, from a distance, these five small pillars appear to be connected on the skirting, so it is not necessary to draw the pillar base when drawing. If the pillar base is drawn, then the position of the two inner pillars of the horse path is also two small parts more than the palace, so it must be erected in a slightly farther place. If it protrudes from the line of the wall, then when erecting, there will also be a question of whether it must be erected in a place that touches the wall. Therefore, this practice is not good. Therefore, these should be drawn on the outer surface of the pedestal. This is its meaning. Here, some scholars think that the meaning of the pillar being slightly longer than the palace is the height of the pillar, thus making the palace very short. Others think that the pillar base is included in the five small parts of the pillar height, all of which are unreasonable. Even so, it cannot be derived from the sentence "because it is located on a square pedestal." If someone says that it should not be made into two small parts with a vase here, then the square pillar base must also represent the vase. As the Garland Treatise says, "The pillars of the horse path are located on a square pedestal and a vase." And as Lanka Gyaltsang said, "The horse path pillar that comes from the pedestal vase should be upright." This is the reason. Above the four pillars, there are two views on whether there is a beam supporting the horse path. Here, the view of having a beam is shown. As the Dharma Meaning says, "On the four corners outside the porch, the beam roots of the four pillars, raising eight is the foundation of the horse path. The pillar base and pillar cap are different." This is what it says. The height of this beam is one small part. As the Measurement Sutra says, "The beam and the horse path are the same in eight parts." The two inner ends of the back beam are placed after digging beam holes on the outer edge of the wall by the door, so they are divided into two sections, so they become five beams. As the Dharma Meaning says, "The four beams are placed crosswise, which are the Four Noble Truths."

If someone asks, it is said (in the scriptures) to possess four samadhis, which contradicts the four main pillars mentioned (earlier). Answer: There is no contradiction, because the two round pillars at the back are classified and referred to as the pillars of the back. For example, in the Vajra-bhava Sutra, it says, "Four horse-steps and eight pillars." This is because the sixteen horse-step pillars, two on each side, are classified as eight. Also, in the Lanka-rajavata Sutra, it says, "It is said to be four door rings." This is also because there are two door rings on each side, but they are classified as four. Therefore, the teacher (Padmasambhava) said (when building Samye Monastery), "Lifted from the top of the four great pillars." Here it is said that "the roots of the pillars, eight by eight were lifted," which is also considering that such a misunderstanding could arise. Therefore, the four pillars mentioned here are classified, and the crisscrossing refers to the crisscrossing of the roots of the eight pillars. Each small part of the front and back pillar columns is under the ashes. Above the elephant, one hand of the lion presses on the top of the elephant's head, and one arm is raised and waved, with jewels hanging from its mouth. This is in accordance with what is said in the Subjugation Tantra, "Decorated with lions and elephants," while the Lama Gongdu says that the elephant is trampled by the two feet of the lion, and the two standing hands hold up the pillars. Above the pillars, horse-steps are to be made. Regarding this, some ancient people say: the horse-leg is the pillar supporting the horse-step, the aquatic is the lotus, the frame is the bracket, the zala net is the decoration of the pillar, the nose-hanging is the corner decoration, the string-hanging is the vajra jewel and silk hanging, the garland is the pearl garland or the dark decoration Shab, the Garuda head is the side of the four brackets. The beautiful arrangement in order is the eleven silks mentioned in the Vajra Mala, such as gold and Shab. To say that building in order has eight merits is because it abandons the eight horse-step silks mentioned in all tantra sadhana methods, and draws eleven garland silks, which is very unreasonable. There are also some who connect Dharma with worldly affairs who say: the horse-leg is the pillar, the aquatic and the frame are the male and female tiles of the eaves, the zala net, the nose-hanging string-hanging, and the four garlands hang from the mouth of the tile.
