The son's horse steps are eight, which is sixteen. Thus, in the "Manifestation of Different Illusions," it says: The definite emergence of the eight vehicles, or the inner and outer of cause and effect, appear as eight steps. This shows the horse steps of the cause. The subsequent text says: The accomplishment of that is the ultimate, for the eight qualities there are horse feet, lotus seat and Zara net, hanging pendants, summer cloth and, Garuda head adorns successively. This shows the horse steps of the fruit. Thus, of the two, the first, the horse steps of the cause, the extensive and the branches, and the tantras of the Vajra Secret Essence, etc., say with one meaning: Empty aspiration, without characteristics, luminous enters, therefore the four wisdom doors appear, there are eight paths there, it becomes eight horse steps. Also, in the "Light Sequence" it says: With four doors surrounded and horse steps, for the sake of dwelling place road. Thus. To this, most of the ancient lamas said that the door is slightly higher than the gatehouse and the corridor, so there are four steps inside and four outside, a total of eight. Jese Dunchenpo said: From the place of riding the horse steps in the four directions to the entrance of the door, there are two steps each, a total of eight. Both of these statements are unreasonable, because it is very inconvenient to set up steps inside and outside on the threshold, and if there are two steps on each side, the total becomes eight horse steps, then it is the same as the decorative horse steps. Also, some say that the latter statement is an interpretation of the meaning of the "Commentary Sun Lion" that each door has two steps, but this is not the case, because the meaning of the "Commentary" refers to each door having two steps inside and outside. So what is it? It is that the great scholars of the past said that the meaning of four steps outside and four steps inside is to set up the outer four steps between the door leaf and the door frame, and the inner four steps between the door frame and the corridor. Here, later scholars say that Rongpa Chogön of the New School and Rog Sherab Ö of the Old School, etc., believe that there is a horse-riding posture outside the door, so they think it is a horse step, which is very wrong, and the prohibition of Butön and Taktsang Lotsawa, etc., is correct, and they agree with this, and the scholars

Some authorities say that "rTa babs" (Tibetan) is the place to mount and dismount horses, so the word "rTa babs" does not include the meaning of the Sanskrit word. Although it is said so, if someone thinks that this "rTa babs" in writing is a staircase, then it is definitely wrong. There is no other problem. In Sanskrit, "tāraṇa" (Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) means "conspicuously hanging," so it is correct to say that it does not include the meaning of a staircase hanging. But on the other hand, it also refers to being without afflictions, because it has become its mudra. On the other hand, "turing ta gama maṇa" (Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) refers to horses. When entering the palace, these are the steps for mounting and dismounting horses, so they are called "rTa babs," as the great translators of the past said. In the "Ten Directions Dispelling Darkness Sutra," it is also said that the sound of "tāraṇa" refers to the decorations in the air, the gatekeepers, the steps for mounting and dismounting horses, and the staircase. Therefore, there is no problem in saying that it does not include the meaning of the Sanskrit word. Without this error, the previous obstacle will also be eliminated. Furthermore, in the "Doctrine of Dharma," it says: "The eight path steps are the noble path, the eight vehicles, and the eight liberations." Here, the inner and outer staircases are common symbolic meanings. The four gate steps and horse steps are: "Three are the three realms, and four are the noble paths marked with lotuses." Here, it is also said that each of the inner and outer staircases has a symbolic meaning of four levels. Secondly, the horse steps of the fruit position are: the four ends of the outer corner pillars of the door side reach, and the four inner and outer pillars are erected there. So, how is this pillar height of seven small parts, including the pillar base, made? In the "Garland Treatise," it says: "The pillars of the horse steps should protrude from the line, and are seven small parts." This aspect is unreasonable. Because the pillars of the horse steps are slightly longer than the measuring room, each one is located on a square pedestal, and because they are located on flat ground, they appear to be connected to the pedestal. Therefore, these should be drawn on the outside of the pedestal. If it is said that it is unreasonable because the seven small parts of the pillars are prohibited, then the intention of the "Garland Treatise" is not like that. Why? Because the previous intention of the "Garland Treatise" is that the pillars of the horse steps must protrude from the line, and the height of the pillars needs seven small parts. If it is thought that it is not enough without adding the two small parts of the two "intentions," then think like that.
