The non-contradictory nature of Mahamudra can also be easily understood from the above. The accomplished ones of the omniscient tradition, having attained the supreme Dharma in this life, accumulate merit through the traces of emptiness and form, and are able to draw forth unchanging bliss, which is combined with empowerment. If one does not attain the supreme Dharma, which is the unobstructed path for the certain union of the noble path, and dies due to karma, then the clear light of death is manifested as the clear light of meaning, and one obtains the body of Mahamudra in the bardo, which is the self-fruit of empowerment and Mahamudra. The former accomplished one attains all four vidyadharas, while the latter accomplished one attains only three. Just as there are these two, the paths of seeing attained by them are also very different. The meaning of the scriptures such as "Those who have attained the power of empowerment in this life and those who have not attained the clear light of death" also lies in this. The latter accomplished one, who combines with Mahamudra after death, the path of seeing of the samadhi that is the substitute for the clear light of death attained by this, in terms of mind, can become a vast vidyadhara, and even just Mahamudra. In terms of body, it is also not the accomplished vidyadhara who relies on the accomplished aggregates of the dead, because it has not been transformed into a pure body, so it is not empowerment. It has also not achieved the form of the deity and the sambhogakaya, so it is not any of the four vidyadharas. If one dies without attaining the supreme Dharma, then the accomplished faithful practitioner who achieves vastness in the bardo needs to be as diligent as the one who has accumulated the merit of achieving one seat of Mahamudra, which is the realization of the completion stage, and not just the faithful practice of the stable generation stage, because it is only considered a mere name of accomplishment. In the accomplished vidyadhara, in the Stages of the Path and in "Dispelling the Darkness of the Ten Directions," the one who is proclaimed from the combination of the words of the path of seeing is a nominal one, because it is similar to the wisdom of the noble one who has attained the vipashyana of the completion stage, so it is nominally established on the grounds of similarity. If it were a noble one, then there would be the fault of an ordinary person becoming a noble one. What is needed is that before the clear light of the meaning of the path of seeing, there must be the direct realization of the accomplished clear light of the example, for this reason, the intention of fulfilling the three necessary conditions of the nominal Dharma is difficult to establish because the generation stage practitioner has no similarity to the one who has attained the vipashyana of the completion stage. If one establishes the accomplished one of the generation stage, then it should be regarded as merely ordinary. The Stages of the Path says: Body

From the loosening of the knots of karma, to the manifestation of the body of the mudra, this is called maturation. Such statements also indicate that the ripening vidyadhara unites with Mahamudra in the bardo after death. However, the Omniscient One does not agree that if someone is a ripening vidyadhara, then Mahamudra cannot be accomplished before death. That is the connection from ripening (vidyadhara) to the empowerment of longevity in this life. Regarding "whether or not the supreme Dharma is attained in this life," Jigme Lingpa Rinpoche believes that it depends on whether or not tsok practice is performed. The way to connect from the supreme Dharma to the vidyadhara of longevity empowerment, not only the Zur tradition, but also the view of the Omniscient One, which has been quoted from the Wish-Fulfilling Treasury and previously explained. Although there are different views on the limit of unchanging bliss, such as establishing it from the highest level of intentional conduct, the view that the first moment of obtaining that bliss and the first moment of attaining the noble path occur simultaneously exists in the mind of the Omniscient One. If it is not done according to this reason and method, there will be scriptural and logical harm, etc., which will not be elaborated here. In the Great Chariot Commentary on the Resting-in-the-Nature-of-Mind, etc., the meaning of "the moments of unchanging bliss destroy the *dhūti* (藏文) knots of the channels" is not like the knots of the channels and their establishment as described in the Kalachakra, but rather refers to the channels dissolving into light. This will also not be elaborated here. Generally, during the time of the early illusionists, Zur the Great and Small, Damapa Gyara, a direct disciple of Zur the Small, believed that the ripening vidyadhara refers to the moment after separating from this body but before reaching the Mahamudra vidyadhara, which the Omniscient One considers to be the same as the path of seeing without having obtained the ability. The difference lies only in whether or not to establish it as a ripening one. Nyeton Choseng criticized this, saying that it contradicts the scripture that says, "Entering the self-benefit of samadhi, and teaching the Dharma to other beings, etc., without abandoning cutting off and embracing, but placing them on the bhumis and paths is the action of others." However, I think that establishing the one who attains the path of seeing before death as a ripening one is better than those views based on the Zur tradition. Because if according to the former, such a ripening one who sees the clear light of meaning in this life will not regress.
