I think of showing the basis of the delusion of imputing clinging as inverted. If the pure nature of reality is not first established, then there is no way to establish the essence of the tenets of this tantra—establishing all phenomena of solidity and movement as primordially enlightened as miraculous displays and play, or it cannot be established. If the latter is not shown, then the main object to be purified on the path in relation to that ultimate basis, the unique refutation that is the opponent of realizing the nature of reality, cannot be identified, so of the two, the former is mentioned as the main topic and the latter as an incidental matter. Secondly, the five common and supreme minds to be generated are generated by the three kinds of wisdom of hearing, thinking, and meditating, or are being generated. In the Three Stages of Vima, it says: "What is the nature of the path shown here in illusion? The cause is the three kinds of wisdom. The result is the five minds of the path of the two near and far, those that have already been born and have not deteriorated, and those that are now newly born, are shown to be the nature of the path." Here, the five common minds are: the vehicle of gods and humans who will surely be liberated from the lower realms; the hearers and self-realizers from samsara; the bodhisattvas from the two extremes; the paths of the three outer tantra classes, each counting five minds. The five supreme minds are: the unique Dharma language of Mahayoga itself, so it is counted only on its own path. In any case, on that path, the first thought that arises is the desire to enter, that is, the initial wavering; if that path is found, how wonderful it would be, so the desire to pursue the meaning arises strongly, that is, aspiration; entering with reverence as desired, that is, entering; having entered, constantly abiding in the practice of that path, that is, abiding; at the end of each path, the desired result is achieved, that is, the mind of completion. At the end of each of these, it is called bodhicitta, the illusion masters establish it in this way, and bodhicitta is not established in all other appearances, because the unique term must be established on the five supreme minds. Or, if it is allowed to establish each as bodhicitta, then the five minds of the hearer and self-realizer vehicle also speak in this way in relation to their own stages, their own result, bodhi. Or, it can also be explained as establishing words on the five minds of gods, humans, hearers, and self-realizers, so it is not pervasive, whichever is convenient.

It should be explained from above. Explaining these paths by summarizing them into five minds is not like the Hearers' Pitaka of the Lesser Vehicle, which shows the Hearers' paths summarized into five minds; rather, it is like this tantra's treatise, which summarizes the Hearers' paths into five minds and shows them as a stepping stone to this path. How can these paths become the means of the mantra path or the lifeblood of the path? Because in any place, the attainable fruit of perfection, which is the direct and indirect cause of manifesting the Bodhi Buddha fruit, is the means for the lower paths; and because the previous holy beings who directly and indirectly strive for perfect Bodhi, wherever they go, are the traces of the ultimate fruit, so it is the path. If we distinguish the lifeblood of the path from the perspective of primary and secondary, then the near path is this very path of the unsurpassed illusion net, and the far paths are the common four vehicles and the paths of the three outer tantra divisions. In general, these paths also have near and far, but here everything is established as a far path, because for the direct object of taming of this path, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, if one abandons this path and enters other paths, then obtaining supreme accomplishment will become very distant; even if those of other vehicle lineages practice their respective paths, they are all counted as far paths in all sutras and tantras, let alone the inferior paths that have already been traversed are far paths? Even if one enters the Mahayana Paramita and the outer tantra paths from the beginning, but compared to those who directly study the profound stages, it is only after a long time that one can achieve it by supplementing with the inner tantra, so it is called a far path. And the outer tantras say that one can achieve supreme accomplishment in one lifetime by practicing the knowledge holders of the desire and form realms to prolong life, but it is not like this path, where one can achieve supreme accomplishment in one short lifetime in the degenerate age. The Compendium Treatise says: The common realizations of near and far are only the preliminary paths, which are the basis of the uncommon stages of the actual path. Or, with the ten perfections of cause and effect, the conduct of the Bodhi mind, with the fruit of means, generate the six perfections of conduct, or for the sake of others, seek perfect Bodhi as the result, or with small and medium individuals as the cause.
