Just as making a wound with a horn and the healing of that wound are unrelated, and like the purity of the sky, knowing that teaching the tantra is meaningful, one smiles, moves the eyebrows, and changes the eyes, extends the tongue, straightens the body, and emits light, thus promising to teach the Dharma with these six expressions of joy. All of this should be understood as that merely thinking in the mind is equivalent to requesting and promising, and there is no oral transmission through speech. Thirdly, regarding the meaning of the tantra that can be fully understood by the wise retinue, that is, the vast meaning of the beginning and end of the tantra, the classification of the three tantras is generally explained in a direct or indirect way, and from among them, the actual meaning of the path tantra, the favorable conditions of the clear and extensive path, and the ten objects of the tantra are explained separately. The former explains all the vast and numerous meanings of the tantra with few words, emphasizing the content to be interpreted; the latter, in order to make the unclear parts clearer and more extensive, emphasizes the words that can be interpreted. This is what Minling Khenchen Jume Gyatso of Mindrolling Monastery said. The first point is: the base or cause tantra is what is established by scripture and reasoning, and what is realized through the path. The path that truly realizes the state of the base and reaches the fruit of having means, that is, the means or the unique path of practice, is the path tantra. What base and path are used to manifest, and in what fruit position is the ultimate completion achieved, that is, the extremely pure fruit tantra. Although the essence is the only wisdom, from the perspective of appearance, it is divided into three according to whether it is free from defilements or not. The reason why it is necessary to explain it in this way is that oil is impossible in sand, so grinding sand to get oil is meaningless. If one first knows the example of the base, just like there is oil in sesame, one will not be afraid of the hardship of the example of the path, that is, grinding sesame, and thus enter into practice, and finally, just like obtaining the oil that was originally in the sesame, even the self-continuum of tiny insects has the ultimate foundation for attaining Buddhahood. Furthermore, if one can correctly determine the special basis that transcends the coarse mind, that is, the innate wisdom mind, whose special characteristic is the blueprint of samsara and nirvana, and whose nature has no bondage and liberation, then the base of self-existing perfection is in accordance with the state and form of the extremely pure fruit.

Starting from the adjustment of the first stage, progressing upwards, the second stage, without adjustment as it is, is taken as the path, gradually clearing away sudden defilements, obtaining the part of merit. During the stage of application, emptiness of form. In the path of seeing, obtaining the key points of skillful means of increasing lifespan, such as the Vidyadhara, it is certain that diligence is meaningful, and it can be accomplished with respectful and constant diligence. Therefore, the ultimate fruit will appear and be accomplished as it is. In this way, the base depends on the path, the path depends on the base and the fruit, and the fruit depends on the base and the path. Therefore, these three are continuous, and through the three relationships of dependence, reliance, and imputation, it is called "Continuum." As it is said in the second chapter of the "Subsequent Explanation of the Continuum," answering questions: "The continuum is explained as continuous. At the same time, method and proximate cause are auxiliary conditions, from the base or cause arises the fruit. As the omniscient one said, it is not a produced fruit but an obtained fruit, like the cessation of suffering." Therefore, method is the path, and cause is the meaning of the base. Regarding these three, Gelong Ka Tsalwa Shakya Chokden said, "The ultimate reality of all the Buddha's teachings is the abiding base, entering to manifest it is the path, and the ultimate ripening that manifests is the fruit." In this way, the three characteristics of the continuum are explained. Lochhen Rinpoche said that among the ten conditions of the path, view is the path. It is not the nature of entering, so if this is the case, then view, dharma, is not the path continuum. Because the path continuum is entering, they are mutually pervasive, based on the pervasiveness of eight characteristics. View, you are not entering. The first proposition, the path is entering, is admitted. The latter reason for not entering is established. View, you are the nature of knowing. The nature of knowing and entering, view and samadhi are not the same, because view is knowing and practice is entering. Although it is said this way, Gelong can say that if it is view, then it is not entering, because it is not pervasive. View, dharma, you have the nature of entering, because you are the path of entering after knowing. Why? Because the path is first entering after knowing, and then entering after repeated practice. Therefore, like the first of the three characteristics, view, by establishing the base, entering through the way of knowing and understanding, is the path of
