Regarding that (aggregate), there are two types: general and specific. First, the general names are "Bhagavan" (Sanskrit: Bhagavan, Romanized Sanskrit: Bhagavat, literal Chinese meaning: Blessed One) and "Tathāgata" (Sanskrit: Tathāgata, Romanized Sanskrit: Tathāgata, literal Chinese meaning: Thus-gone), as explained earlier when discussing the nature of the Buddha. The Pramāṇavārttika states: "The two common names have already been mentioned." Second, there are five specific names. First, for the consciousness aggregate, there are also two aspects: definition and division. First, the definition is: it has the characteristic of being aware of objects. Second, the divisions are: the ālaya-vijñāna (store consciousness), mind, afflicted mind, and the five sense consciousnesses. These eight consciousnesses are classified as the consciousness aggregate. It is established that in the realm of deities, it is the deity Akṣobhya (Immovable Vajra), the family is the Vajra family of the mind, the wisdom is the Dharmadhātu wisdom, and the body color is blue, symbolizing the unchanging nature of the Dharmadhātu. The hand holds a vajra, symbolizing being unshaken by extreme conceptualizations. For the form aggregate, there are also two aspects. First, the definition is: it has the characteristic of being destructible and breakable. Second, the divisions are: the four elements as the cause of form, and the eleven forms as the result. The Abhidharmakośa states: "Form is the five faculties and the five objects, and non-revealing form." The five faculties are meaningful, meaning the five faculties are: the eye faculty is like an open utpala flower, the ear faculty is like a rolled-up blade of grass, the nose faculty is like a copper needle pointing downwards, the tongue faculty is like a half-moon, and the body faculty is like soft cotton to the touch. The five objects that they perceive are: the object of the eye is form, the object of the ear is sound, the object of the nose is smell, the object of the tongue is taste, and the object of the body is touch. Thus, non-revealing form is like the visible form of vows that are unseen and unobstructed. In the realm of deities, it is Vairocana, the family is the Tathāgata family of the body, the wisdom is mirror-like wisdom, and the body color is white, symbolizing being untainted by the faults of defilements. The hand holds a wheel, symbolizing dominion over all. For the feeling aggregate, there are two aspects. First, the definition is: it has the characteristic of experiencing. Second, the divisions are: vast feeling

Small, immeasurable, with characteristics, and without characteristics, these are the five. In the heavenly realm, it is Amitabha. The lineage is the speech lotus lineage. The wisdom is discriminating awareness wisdom. The body color appears red as a symbol of subduing beings according to their inclinations. The hand implements are held lotus flowers as a symbol of not being defiled by the faults of samsara. Regarding the aggregate of formation, the first of the two definitions is: having the characteristic of manifestly forming objects. The second division is: among the fifty-one mental factors, if summarized, feeling, intention, thought, touch, and attention, these are the five omnipresent. Desire, conviction, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom, these are the five object-specific. Faith and diligence are very gentle, without greed, without hatred, without delusion, equanimity, shame, embarrassment, non-harming, and diligence, these are the eleven virtuous dharmas. Greed, anger, pride, and ignorance, doubt, and views, these six are the root afflictions. Wrath, resentment, concealment, vexation, jealousy, stinginess, deceit, flattery, arrogance, harm, shamelessness, lack of embarrassment, drowsiness, disbelief, laziness, recklessness, forgetfulness, non-intelligence, and distraction, these are the twenty secondary afflictions. Sleep, regret, investigation, and analysis are the four uncertain ones. Among these fifty-one mental factors, feeling and consciousness are considered independent aggregates, so they are listed separately, and the remaining forty-nine are classified as the aggregate of formation. In the heavenly realm, it is the Accomplishing Wisdom Buddha, the lineage is the activity lineage. The wisdom is the accomplishing activity wisdom. The body color appears green as a symbol of the natural accomplishment of various activities. The hand implements are held swords as a symbol of having no obstacles in taming beings. In general, the definition of aggregate is stated in the Abhidharmakosha: because it is a collection of many things, it is defined as an aggregate. For example, many grains of wheat piled together are called a wheat pile, the principle is the same. Such conceptual thoughts are controlled by the wisdom of the mind, and with the meaning of defeating the army of afflictions, therefore the five Buddha families are all called kings. The reason for dividing into five aggregates is also stated in the Uttaratantra: form and feeling, consciousness and, formation and knowledge, are aggregates.
