Just as it was before, so it is now. The nature of mind is unchanging. Thus it is said. Secondly, the explanation of the condensed Vajrasattva is: By the mudra of that very one, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are sealed, and condensed into equality, which is the Vajrasattva who is non-dual in basis and result, as indicated by that. Its meaning is that "that very one" refers to the nature of mind, the great self-arisen wisdom that is inseparable from appearance and emptiness. "Sealed with a mudra" means that just as when a king's decree is sealed with a royal seal, the subjects and ministers cannot transgress it, so too, the power of the mudra to imprint all phenomena, including the dualities of stability and movement, samsara and nirvana, is unimpeded. And just as oil pervades sesame seeds, all of these are inherently present in a pervasive manner. The Vajrasattva Heart Mirror Tantra says: "In all sentient beings in the world, the essence of the Tathagata is present like oil pervading sesame seeds." And the Jeweled Garland says: "In sesame seeds and mustard seeds, oil is naturally and spontaneously present. In what appears as the body of sentient beings, the seed of the Tathagata appears with harmonious light." And the Sutra King of Samadhi says: "The essence of the Sugata pervades all beings entirely." Thus it is said. "Condensed into equality" means that when those phenomena of duality are condensed into the expanse of the Dharmakaya of mind, the many forms of the mandala of mudras dissolve into the expanse, and thus one can abide in signless emptiness. As it is said: "In the realm of Dharmata, there is one taste." And the Limb says: "Samsara and nirvana, there is not the slightest difference. When samsara is fully known, it is called nirvana." Thus it is said. Ada Yeshe says: "If you realize the mind, it is wisdom, so you should not seek the Buddha elsewhere, but should cultivate this understanding thoroughly." Thus it is said. In short, the distinction between Mahamudra and Dzogchen is also included here. When the nature of mind is considered in terms of how it radiates outward or how it pervades, it is Mahamudra. When all the phenomena of samsara and nirvana are perfected inward into the expanse of the nature of mind, it is called Dzogchen. The Hevajra says: "This is called samsara, this is called nirvana."

"Beyond abandoning samsara, there is no nirvana." The Sutra says, "All phenomena that appear in this way, are not like phenomena with substance, the self-aware luminosity without thought, is only awareness." The so-called "Vajrasattva of non-duality of base and result" refers to these two stable collections from the perspective of the unchanging nature of mind. Because the terms base and result do not appear in it, it is called Vajrasattva of non-duality of base and result. The Kunjed Gyalpo says, "Other phenomena apart from mind, the All-Creating King has not prophesied in the past, will not teach in the future, and does not teach now. This should be understood as the mind of the Buddha." Third, explaining the realized Vajrasattva: The meaning of the nature of reality that is realized by a being who has exhausted the two obscurations and perfected the two accumulations is what is indicated by the so-called result bodhisattva. The meaning of the nature of reality is the two stable collections mentioned above. This is explained from the perspective of the nature of mind. Here, the realized Vajrasattva and the result Vajrasattva are explained from the perspective of the appearance of mind. Although the nature is like that, in appearance, good and bad appear separately. A being who seeks liberation, through relying on the two stages of the path of purification, with the intention of perfecting the two accumulations and exhausting the two obscurations, the true meaning of the nature of mind is manifested, this is called the result Vajrasattva or the realized Vajrasattva. The Extensive Commentary says, "No matter how many oral instructions are spoken, the essence of the true meaning, cannot be found even if sought from elsewhere, because the nature is immaculate and pure." Because the wisdom that is realized is also non-dual like a vajra. That is, if a realized being obtains the title of Vajrasattva, then the wisdom that is in his mind should also obtain the pre-existing title of Vajrasattva. As the Ornament of Clear Realization says, "In this, there is nothing to be removed, nor is there anything to be placed, look at reality as it is, seeing reality as it is, one is liberated."
