Now, is it empty or not empty in itself? If it is like the former, it will become substantial because one's own practice abandons it; if it is like the latter, it will become partial because the elaboration has not been completely cut off. This should be examined. The distinction is: commoners divide the ultimate into two types, nominal and non-nominal, but here, from the perspective of types, it is determined as three: self-nature, wisdom, and fruition. The difference between them is whether self-nature and fruition are manifested or not, whether fruition and wisdom are general or specific, and whether self-nature and wisdom are distinguished from the perspective of the basis and fruition. Although the ancients thought so, they worried that the two, basis and fruition, would fall into the fault of confusing the objects. The self-tradition believes that the nature of reality, free from elaboration, is the ultimate wisdom from the aspect of being free from self-illumination and obscuration; and in that nature of reality itself, the five aspects of fruition are spontaneously present from the beginning, which is called the ultimate fruition. Even if it is said so, it is necessary to distinguish the ultimate fruition from the difference. Secondly, it is determined from the perspective of appearance and reversion, the conventional. Jowo Takpa believes that the previous reasoning of no-birth can also be used as the reasoning of no-cessation. But the self-tradition says that for awareness, it is only appearance and no-cessation, and for the appearance of emptiness, it is necessary to prove non-difference. In the first case, if the internal appearance is not established, illusion will not arise; and it will also become without ultimate knowable; and this mere appearance cannot be denied by anyone; and at all times, self-awareness will not cease, and it will be established as the four reasons for self-appearance. When proving these reasons, other schools will say annihilation, or some Madhyamikas of their own school will say: Mind-nature, the subject. It is not established in the way of those reasons, because not to mention appearing as true, even appearing as mere appearance is not established. And, for the increasing conventional of the general characteristic of conventional, is it pervasive or not pervasive? If it is like the first case, then it will also become illusion and wrong knowledge; if it is like the second case, then the general characteristic of the conventional will be negated. If you admit it, then the increasing conventional will not exist on things. This is how it is examined. Also, like this, is the increasing conventional appearing as the leisure of the heavenly realm an imputation or perfect reality? If it is like the former, then practicing the yoga of the deity will become meaningless; if it is like the latter, it will become a cause like a golden Sal tree.

Furthermore, because it does not rely on others. It does not even rely on the wisdom that generates deities. Moreover, both the former and latter are harmed by scripture and oral instructions. In addition, one must carefully examine the difference between this superior and the previous ultimate truth of the fruition. According to the statement in the Mahā common language that "all phenomena appear as the magical display of wisdom," when "power appearance" is mentioned in the tantric commentaries, although it can also be explained as magical display, it should not be regarded as a fault to say so. Because the scriptural authority Anu, which is distinguished by scripture, teachings, and oral instructions, differs from the power appearance mentioned here, it is reasonable to establish the thesis of distinguishing their differences. If distinguishing, the Madhyamikas also divide into correct and incorrect, but here their correctness is also regarded as incorrect. And the correct refers to the view that the aggregates, elements, and sources are complete from the beginning as the mandala of body and wisdom, or examining whether they appear as mantras with names, letters, etc. Third, determining from the perspective of the inseparability of truth, it is said to be divided into those who do not belong to the Tara commentary relying on examples to refute, and those who belong to the Tara commentary relying on examples to establish, and the latter believes that it is established by distinguishing like the examples of gold, turquoise, lakes, and rainbows. Gyalwa Yung, etc. Most of the former lamas establish that these two truths have no inherent good or bad, their essence is inseparable, the places where they reside are not different, and through the four reasonings of having no temporal order. When establishing its manner, others say: Mind-nature, as the subject, does not establish the manner of those reasons, because it either determines to be on either side of appearance or emptiness, or abides in the two as separate entities. And, because it is established in that way, it becomes the fault of the three appearances of self-nature, and because the essence of appearance and emptiness are one, when appearance arises and ceases, emptiness also becomes such a fault, and this is investigated. If distinguishing, the Cittamatrins believe in non-duality in one, and the Madhyamikas believe in the inseparability of negating the two extremes, but here it is believed that the essence is inseparable. Can that be determined through hearing and thinking? If it can, then the experience of being separated from the object of consciousness will be lost. If it cannot, then all the reasons become meaningless.
