One should contemplate well on the meaning of what is heard, because it depends on the wisdom arising from definitely contemplating the meaning of what is heard. By closely applying the meaning, one should keep the mind abiding within. The Omniscient Great One said: "Thus, after adorning with excellent hearing, one must generate the wisdom of contemplation in the continuum." Thus. After perfecting the application of the meaning of contemplation, one must rely on the wisdom arising from meditating on the nature of reality. The Omniscient Great One said: "Thus, after perfecting what is to be contemplated, one should generate the wisdom arising from meditation in the continuum." Thus it is said, having established the meaning of the base, by abiding equally in the natural state of reality, all the bonds of one's own continuum are liberated into the nature of reality. The Omniscient Great One said: "At that time, nature is one, the primordial state. Grasping and being grasped are not perceived, the Dharmakaya. Stainless, clear light, the essence of the sun. Blissful, clear, non-conceptual, appearing without beginning or end." It is like a stone ore placed together with a precious कौस्तुभ (Sanskrit Devanagari: कौस्तुभ, Sanskrit Romanization: kaustubha, Chinese literal meaning: Kaustubha jewel) gradually turning into gold. This is the teaching of example and exemplified meaning. The example is that the precious कौस्तुभ (Sanskrit Devanagari: कौस्तुभ, Sanskrit Romanization: kaustubha, Chinese literal meaning: Kaustubha jewel) itself, when placed together with an ordinary stone, does not immediately turn the stone into gold, but gradually turns it into gold. The exemplified meaning is that the individual who relies on the path of liberation, although not possessing the quick characteristics like the path, there is no difference in gradually connecting with the result. Therefore. If one differentiates it, long also has gradual and sudden. Thus it is said. In general, although this path of liberation is a long path relying on means, there are both gradual and sudden ones. Among them, there are those with very sharp faculties who can do it without the distinction of understanding and habituation, making a final decision, such as Indrabhuti who was liberated at the time of receiving empowerment, which is sudden, and there are those who gradually understand, habituate, and perfect, which is gradual. To explain this a little, it says here: "The aggregates of knowing and entering characteristics, the cause and condition that ripen the fruit, whatever becomes capable, is known as the field of the victorious Vidyadharas." Thus, there are three characteristics, namely the characteristic of knowing as the cause - view, the characteristic of entering as the condition - Samadhi, and the fruit as the path - the four Vidyadharas. Thus, three are shown, among which, the first is the characteristic of knowing as the cause.

Regarding the explanation of views, there are also three aspects: the object to be measured, the reasoning, and the tenet. As stated in the Lamrim (Stages of the Path): "The basis, the reasoning, and the meaning of establishment." Among these, the first, the object to be measured, is: "Samsara and Nirvana, apparent realities, attachment, and imputation." This means that the world, composed of all inner and outer phenomena, is like a dreamlike illusion due to the attachment and imputation of considering what is not real as real. Although it appears as such, its intrinsic nature and Dharma nature remain unchanged. Therefore, Samsara and Nirvana cannot be said to be the same or different, but the mind that clings to them separately is the object to be measured here. As stated in the Madhyamakavatara (Entering the Middle Way): "Established in the two realms of imputation." So, are Samsara and Nirvana not measured? Samsara is an impermanent and illusory appearance, and Nirvana is beyond the realm of the mind, so they are not established as objects to be measured. Although it is said so, the Madhyamakavatara states: "Nirvana is not a realm of experience, how can it be an object to be measured?" This is clear. If the mind that clings to Samsara and Nirvana is part of Samsara and is an impermanent and illusory appearance, then the tenet of not being established as an object to be measured is established. Then, if the mind that clings to Samsara and Nirvana is acknowledged as an object to be measured, it must be assumed that the mind of dualistic clinging is permanent, stable, and spontaneously accomplished, which is too extreme. So, what is it here? The so-called Samsara and Nirvana are separately imputed by the mind of dualistic clinging, and there is no self-established characteristic. Therefore, the object to be measured here is also the mind of separate clinging, so that the view of the non-duality of Samsara and Nirvana can be determined. Is that what is meant? Second, regarding the reasoning of the measurer, the Lamrim states: "Its five entities, methods, and words." This means that there are three types of reasoning: the five reasonings that occurred earlier, the five methods of reasoning that followed, and the five words of reasoning. First, the five reasonings that occurred earlier are: the five Buddha bodies truly reveal the truth through the five ways of speaking. That is, the Teacher, the Dharmakaya, communicates with the retinue, the ocean of wisdom, through the speech of unborn meaning; the Sambhogakaya communicates with the retinue, the ocean of ripening, through the speech of implied meaning; the Nirmanakaya communicates with the retinue, the ocean of faith, through the speech of words; the Vajrakaya communicates with the nature.
