O! Those that clarify names and terms are letters, which are definitely of two kinds: vowels and consonants. Thus, letters gather to form names, and names gather to form verses, prose, and so on, ultimately forming the collection of scriptures, exemplified by the root tantra of secret essence, which is the cause of the path. As it is said in this very text: 'Letters are established as collections of sounds and names, and words rely on them to perfectly explain.' Therefore, the explanation for those of middling faculties, by distinguishing general meanings, has been well explained. For those of lower faculties, the explanation is given by unraveling each word and phrase. In general, there are many general commentaries and word commentaries on this tantra written by Indian and Tibetan scholars. In particular, one should learn from the pure and stainless teachings of the glorious Zurpa tradition, and from the word commentary 'Secret Lord's Mind Ornament' well spoken by the all-knowing Ngakgi Wangchuk Chöpal Gyatso. The secret treasury of the minds of all Buddhas of all times and directions, the ultimate essence of the supreme path, the profound and vast nature of the snowy mountains, an extremely rare and boundless treasure of dharma. This is explained in accordance with the faculties of the superior, middling, and inferior, mainly following the tradition of Indian pandits, the intention of the immaculate spiritual friends is like a jewel on top, adorned at the peak of the victory banner of the three kinds of pure examination. The glorious Zurpa's lineage of the three transmissions, from the mouth of a qualified and upright lama, the stream of purification that has descended possesses eight qualities, like nectar untainted by the poison of broken vows. Without obscuring with the guise of leafy branches of words, the essence of good meaning is condensed into a fruit of a hundred flavors, the explanation that dispels confusion is like a wish-fulfilling tree, beautiful in the center of the garden of the great secret dharma. The unbearable darkness of the five degenerations is piled up, greatly obscuring the light of hearing and thinking, so that even the jewel-like commentaries of previous scholars are lost in the dust and darkness. I, like myself, have written down what little I have seen according to my own intelligence, without the hope of benefiting others, merely for my own effort. However, the collective embodiment of all Buddhas, Tertön Lingpa, whose compassionate dance is the lord who tames beings, may his smiling face be pleased with this.

从（此）起，心想成为喜悦的供云而兴高采烈， 胜者的慈悲如太阳般明亮， 所化有情的田野如虚空般广阔， 心想或许能利益到汉地的一些众生。 为了阐明续部的意义，我努力制作了这个明灯， 续部之王金刚的语句深奥而精妙， 像我这样智慧极其未受训练的人， 若有任何过失，我向诸佛和佛子， 以及空行护法海众忏悔。 以善妙所作的功德，奇妙的黄金车轮燃烧着， 完全引出的光明太阳摧毁了世间的一切黑暗， 存在与寂静的利益安乐之精华，光明云团的盛大聚集， 愿享受完全遍布的喜宴，奇妙无比地闪耀！ 这奇妙的秘密法门，乃至虚空存在之时， 为了具缘有情众生的利益，愿它存在并发挥作用， 如意宝和满愿宝瓶，如同日月的光明一般， 愿自然成就的伟大事业遍布一切方向！ 我亦以此为缘，生生世世被殊胜的怙主所摄受， 认识到轮回安乐的虚假本质后，进入这殊胜的秘密道， 清净基础续、道续的垢染，果续四身自然成就， 愿成为救度无边众生的殊胜导师！ 从善行所生的土地中， 诞生的功德如意树， 以赐予利乐的愿望， 愿吉祥遍布一切！ 如是，吉祥密集金刚的释疏《秘密主意庄严》的总义以上的解释，《续义明灯善说精华之光》的这个著作，也是因为嘉瓦圆满正等觉雍贡多觉多吉的无垢教言中，对此法类生起闻思修三学的精进，是诸佛欢喜的殊胜道，所以应该努力于讲修。如是多次赐予开示，为了满足至尊上师的意愿，以及为了使自己的智慧熟练，三世诸佛的总集，具足三种恩德的至尊Ra-tna Bi-dzā的教诲之臣。

From (this) on, I rejoice, thinking to become a delightful offering cloud, The compassion of the Victorious Ones is as clear as the sun, The field of those to be tamed is as vast as the sky, I think it might benefit some beings in China. To clarify the meaning of the tantras, I have diligently made this lamp, The words of the King of Tantras, Vajra, are profound and subtle, Since my intellect is extremely untrained, If there are any faults, I confess to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, And to the ocean of assemblies of Dakinis and oath-bound protectors. With the merit of virtuous deeds, the wondrous golden chariot blazes, The illuminating sun, completely drawn forth, destroys all the darkness of the world, The essence of benefit and happiness of existence and peace, a great gathering of clouds of light, May we enjoy the feast of complete pervasion, wonderfully blazing above! May this wondrous secret Dharma tradition, as long as the sky exists, For the benefit of fortunate sentient beings, remain and fulfill its purpose, Like the wish-fulfilling jewel and the excellent vase of desires, like the light of the sun and moon, May the great activities of spontaneous accomplishment pervade all directions! May I also, holding this, be cared for by the holy protector in all my lifetimes, Having realized the false nature of worldly pleasures, entering this excellent secret path, Purifying the defilements of the basis tantra and the path tantra, may the four Kayas of the result tantra be spontaneously accomplished, May I become the holy guide who liberates all limitless beings! From the womb of the earth born of virtuous deeds, The wish-fulfilling tree of merit, With the bestowal of benefit and happiness, May auspiciousness pervade all! Thus, this commentary on the glorious Guhyagarbha Tantra, the explanation of the general meaning of the Secret Lord's Intent Ornament, called "The Light Illuminating the Meaning of the Tantras, the Essence of Excellent Sayings," is also because in the immaculate teachings of Gyalwang Dzogchen Buddha Yung Gon Dro Dul Dorje, generating the vigor of hearing, thinking, and meditating on this Dharma class is the supreme path that pleases the Buddhas, so it is appropriate to strive in teaching and practice. Thus, he repeatedly bestowed instructions, in order to fulfill the intention of the supreme Lama, and to familiarize my own intelligence, I, a servant of the teachings of the omniscient Ratna Bija, who is the embodiment of all the Buddhas of the three times and possesses the three kindnesses.
