Therefore, to tame all beings included in the six realms, he manifests peaceful bodies, wrathful bodies, and inconceivable bodies such as Brahma, Indra, and the Universal Monarch, in accordance with those to be tamed. In all realms where the dispositions and inclinations of those to be tamed differ, he manifests different forms and postures, and different mandalas of faces. In every instant, to accord with their respective appearances, he shows inconceivable faces and accomplishes the benefit of beings. As the Great Mother Sutra says, "These sentient beings of Jambudvipa think that they are in front of us, and we teach the Dharma out of compassion." And as the Strong Army Sutra says, "Although his nature is free from attachment and aversion, he appears as if attached to those who are attached. To subdue the violent, he appears as wrathful to the wrathful. I prostrate to the guide of skillful means." And so on. Similarly, according to the capacity of beings, he proclaims the Dharma in accordance with their respective languages, with inconceivable speech, and possesses such appearances. Therefore, in the boundless expanse of the sky, countless inconceivable emanations radiate in various ways, appearing in the ten directions in whatever way is necessary to tame them. To this, some say that above it says the body can endure, not doing things like tigers and monkeys, etc., and here it says everywhere manifesting inconceivable bodies, etc., this is contradictory. The former refers to enduring unrestrained behavior that is not for the sake of taming beings, while the latter refers to doing whatever is necessary with body, speech, and mind for the sake of taming beings, so there is no contradiction. Others ask, what is the difference between the inconceivable body and the inconceivable face? The former is from the perspective of the head and body being consistent, while the latter is from the perspective of subtle differences between the head and body being inconsistent, for the sake of accomplishing the benefit of beings. It is also said that countless inconceivable emanations appear in the ten directions. To this, some say that if one emanation emanates from another, it will never end. If you think so, then isn't it clear from the Tantra that says, "Again emanates..."? To this, Jia gap gong ba says, the spontaneously accomplished activities of the Buddhas, unobstructed in understanding, are like the sky, the appearances of the retinue of those to be tamed are like clear water, wisdom does not diminish from the realm of reality, and the connection of great compassion...

It appears in the ten directions in countless and inconceivable ways, like an unobstructed manifestation. Therefore, it is said that there will be no more rebirths. So it is said. Fourth, subduing with the teachings, which is divided into three parts: concise explanation, detailed explanation, and conclusion. The first part is: everything is like this, such as the vehicle of gods and humans with the power of subduing, etc. From "etc." to "the unsurpassed vehicle" is explained. This is further divided into three parts: sound meaning, classification, and explanation of individual meanings. The first part is: the word "vehicle" (yāna) comes from the sound of the Sanskrit word या (yā, to go, to proceed), meaning that which one relies on to travel, transport, or elevate from below to above, hence it is called "vehicle." That is, because it carries, it is a "vehicle," like a good carriage. Because this carries, it is a "vehicle," that is, the person who travels relying on it. Because this carries, it is a "vehicle," that is, the desired result of each individual. In the Compendium, it says: This vehicle is like the sky, an immeasurable great palace, the supreme vehicle that achieves joy, happiness, and bliss. Riding on it, all sentient beings can transcend suffering. So it is said. In terms of classification, there are two types: general classification and specific classification. The first is: in order to subdue the afflictions in the minds of sentient beings, it is explained what should be subdued by what, so it cannot be definitively said that only these types of vehicles are certain. The Lankavatara Sutra says: To completely guide sentient beings, I have taught all vehicles, but there is no specific designation saying it is this. So it is said. If we temporarily summarize, from the perspective of the result, it is said to be one vehicle, as the White Lotus Sutra of the Sacred Dharma says: There is only one vehicle, not three vehicles. There are two types, great and small vehicles; there are three types, Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas; there are three types, outer, inner, and secret vehicles; there are three types of causal vehicles and one type of resultant vehicle, making a total of four types. As the Root Tantra of Manjushri says: From the liberation of the three vehicles, one abides in the result of one vehicle. Also, this same scripture says: From the liberation of the four vehicles, one abides in the result of one vehicle. Thus, summarizing the types, it is said to be five types. The All-Creating King says: The six vehicles that have attained certainty. Thus, it is divided into six types based on the upper and lower distinctions of cause and effect. The Mandala Compendium says: gods, humans, Hearers, Solitary Realizers, Bodhisattvas, outer secret and
