Empowerment. As prophesied that the teachings of words should be requested from the immaculate Licchavi, it was accomplished, and the master Kukkuraja intended to explain the tantras in eighteen sections to King Jaḥ. There is no contradiction between these two, as the king himself realized it, but in order to refute the slander of others, he acted as if he relied on Kukkuraja. However, here, the view that the king himself realized it should be accepted, because in the Path Formulations made by the king himself, and in the Gradual Path of Secret Buddha and others, it is said that he realized it himself, and it is not said that he relied on others. Some say: If one can achieve by looking at the scriptures, then taking the secret mantra oneself is only for sentient beings to go to hell. It is said that it is contradictory to say that one cannot achieve without a lama. If so, it is contradictory for those without fortune, but there is no certainty for those with fortune, so it cannot be completely denied. Like Hevajra and the root tantra Virupa and Nagarjuna and others, they pretended to be dumb and stole it from the land of Oddiyana and fled, and the dakinis chased them but could not catch them, so they gave permission to spread it to those with fortune. It is more famous than being spread by the master. Virupa and others have no fault of taking the secret mantra themselves, because it was taught by the selflessness mother. If so, then King Jaḥ also has no fault of taking the secret mantra himself, because it was taught by Vajrapani directly and through (transmission) blessings. Moreover, although there are many criticisms about the way the scriptures fell, this method is clearly explained in the commentary on the common teaching of the One Hundred and Fifty Verses of the Perfection of Wisdom, and the translator Gzuga Dor saw the scene of the scriptures falling like rain in Nalanda Monastery painted in a picture, and so on. There are many reliable stories famous among scholars, so please do not make bad criticisms. How it was transmitted from there: King Jaḥ explained the eighteen tantras to Kukkuraja. He explained it to Indrabhuti. He explained it to Simharaja. He showed it to Princess Goma Devi, and by practicing with their respective retinues, they went to the place of vidyadharas. The princess explained it to King Kukkuraja, Master Sgegpa Dorje, and Sangye Sangwa three. King

Kukuraja bestowed the accomplishment of Rolang Dewa (bliss of rising corpse) upon the two sages Ghashita. The former transmitted it to Dorje Shepa. He and the latter together transmitted it to King Prahasti of Zahor. Then, Guru Rinpoche and Sangye Sangwa heard this teaching. Additionally, Gekpa Dorje and Sangye Sangwa together transmitted it to the great Pandit Vimalamitra. He transmitted it to Tibet, to Ma Rinchen Chok and Nyak Jñana Kumara. Yungton Dorje Pal said that it was translated by Ma during the time of Mangpoje, but the omniscient Longchen Rabjampa considered that Ma and Jñana together translated it during the time of Trisong Detsen, which is the truth. In general, this tantra has three translations: the early translation by Sangye Sangwa and Vairochana, the intermediate translation by Padma and Nyak, and the later translation by Vimala and Ma-Nyak together, which are the three versions translated jointly by translators and pandits. Here, the later translation has the characteristic of 'Phyong,' while the former two are said to lack 'Phyong.' Furthermore, the translation of Tharlo Nyima Gyaltsen and the revision of Gos Lho Zhonnu Pal are 'Tsal-gyur' (skill translation) without pandits, making a total of five translations. Among them, the lineage of precepts transmitted to Nubchen Sangye Yeshe has three rivers. The first is: Ma Rinchen Chok transmitted it to Tsukru Rinchen Zhonnu and Gyerre Chokyong, and these two transmitted it to Darje Palgyi Drakpa and Zhang Gyalwai Yönten. From Darje, the lineage split into two precepts, the U-Tsang tradition and the Kham tradition. Zhang Gyal Yönten was heard by Nubchen, which is known as the Illusion Secret Teaching tradition or the Norbu tradition. The second is: Nyak Jñana, a disciple of both Guru Rinpoche and Vimalamitra, transmitted it to Sokpo Palgyi Yeshe, who transmitted it to Nub. The third is: Khu Jangchub Ö and Khyunpo Yik Ö, disciples of Ma and Nyak together. Khu transmitted it to Zhang, and Khyunpo transmitted it to Darje. Zhang's disciples, the two wise men Tsuk-gyer, mainly focused on Khu's explanations, so it is called 'Kaphuk Kyongma,' and it is also called 'Ka Chimpu' after the place, and it was transmitted to Nubchen. Thus, Nubchen Sangye Yeshe gathered the three great rivers of precepts transmitted from Ma and Nyak, Nubchen.
