This is the Āna Vehicle. Time is inconceivable time. Nāma is called name. As such, among the five perfections, the first is the place. This refers to the place where Dharma arises, the mother's bhaga triangle, the outer courtyard square, the tip of the realm of abundance round, the birthplace crescent-shaped, the four activities residing in shape, which is the place where the secret mandala resides, hence the perfection of place. The teacher is, when the father's vajra jewel is held with the method of bindu, the essence of thirteen million roots is gathered, the illusory wisdom bindu vaṃ (藏文,梵文天城体,vam,汉语字面意思:വം), resides in the shape of the letter. It resides as the nature that makes bliss clear in the lineage of both father and mother, hence the perfection of the teacher. The retinue is, mādanā saṃbyed mānu yid de byed pa saṃpāi thabs (མ་ད་ན་སྡོམ་བྱེད་མ་ནུ་ཡིད་དེ་བྱེད་པ་སྡོམ་པའི་ཐབས།). This is the method of restraining the characteristics of the three thoughts, the secret consciousness that restrains, because it experiences the bliss of wisdom, and at that time the mind that restrains bliss, because it accumulates and reveals the experienced dharmas in bliss, it is also the accumulator, hence the perfection of the retinue. The Dharma is, the moment at the end of the sixteen joys of the five complete minds experienced by the path of great bliss wisdom, the emptiness of innate co-emergent wisdom, without characteristics, without aspirations,

The perfection of Dharma is indicated by "Thus spoken." That is, "Thus" is a word particle representing the complete and perfect meaning of the Guhyagarbha Tantra. Then, if it is not said "I heard," but said "spoken," what does it mean? Like Je Yungtonpa and others, they say that in all tantric contexts, the corresponding Sanskrit word is "Evam Maya (梵文天城体:एवं माया,梵文罗马拟音:evam maya,Literal meaning: Thus Illusion)," and there is no difference in the grammatical case between words like "spoken" and "heard." However, in the Sanskrit versions of "Thus I heard at one time," it appears as "Evam maya shrutam eka smin samaye (梵文天城体:एवं मया श्रुतमेक स्मिन् समये,梵文罗马拟音:evam maya shrutam eka smin samaye,Literal meaning: Thus heard by me at one time)." So, what does it mean here? Evam (梵文天城体:एवं,梵文罗马拟音:evam,Literal meaning: Thus) means "thus" and "like this," "similarly," etc. Here, idam (梵文天城体:इदम्,梵文罗马拟音:idam,Literal meaning: This) is added with the seventh case ཏ་༼ཏྲ་༽, becoming རྣམ་འགྱུར་དུ་ུ, meaning "this." Vam (梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vam,Literal meaning: Speech) is derived from the root meaning of vaca (梵文天城体:वच,梵文罗马拟音:vaca,Literal meaning: to speak). As for the word Maya (梵文天城体:माया,梵文罗马拟音:maya,Literal meaning: Illusion), the omniscient Longchen Rabjampa said in his commentary on this tantra that it has meanings such as nature, illusion, self, and arising. Here, taking the meaning of arising, it is translated as "at the time of speaking," which is very good. In other tantras, The necessity of saying "I heard" is to indicate that the compiler is not showing himself, but acknowledging and saying so; and to establish that what he is proclaiming is heard directly by himself, and not a transmission heard from others; and to indicate that only the words are heard, but the meaning is not understood, thus representing the difficulty in understanding the meaning of the Buddha's words, and so on. Here, however, an uncommon position is taken, and the compiler, the Lord of Secrets, acknowledges himself to be non-different from the Sixth Family Teacher, and says that what I spoke in Akanishta before, I will also speak here now. That is, the compiler Vajrapani shows his greatness as being superior to other common compilers. As the Extensive Commentary of Sunlight Lion says: "Speaking is to show that samsara and nirvana are not two." In the Root Tantra of Peaceful Gathering of Bliss it says: "I am the King of Greatness, speaking and listening are also myself." In the Two Examinations it says: "The speaker is me, the Dharma is also me, the listener with his own assembly is also me." In Secret Accomplishment it says: "The one who speaks the tantra is the Vajra Mind, the speaker is also the compiler."

Thus it is said. This meaning also shows that this teaching is the ultimate, definitive truth of the Victor's intention. Second, the perfection of time: This is indicated by the word "time." That is, the teacher, the complete enjoyment body, always abides in the ever-turning wheel of Dharma, so he has transcended the limitation of occasional time. As it says in the Ocean: "At that time, time is without limit, the nature of the four times is equal." So it is. Some say that in other sutras and tantras, it says, "Thus I have heard at one time," but here it is not mentioned, so the topic has changed, and this is not a true teaching. The answer is that in the old commentaries on this tantra, there are different explanations, but there must be a special, profound meaning. However, the great translator of the five sciences, Ngakgi Wangchuk Chöpal Gyamtso, thinks like this: The so-called "explanation" is, as mentioned above, the view that the teacher and retinue are of one mind; and the word "time" does not only refer to the occasional nature of time, but to the meaning of constantly speaking in the ever-turning wheel of Dharma, which is a summary of taking a different view from other tantras. Also, if it is not said, "Thus I have heard at one time," it will not become a true teaching, then the Root Tantra of Chakrasamvara and the Manjushri Namasamgiti, etc., should also be like that. Because they are not mentioned like that. As it says: "After that, the secret will be explained." And it says: "After that, glorious Vajradhara." So it is said. Therefore, as it says in the commentary on the Ornament of Clear Realization: "Here, there is only a difference in establishment, so at no time should one refute based on the tenets of other vehicles." As it is said, it should be understood. Third, the perfection of the teacher is twofold: the nature of the teacher and the essence of the teacher. First, the explanation of the nature of the teacher is twofold: meaning and determination. The first is: the teacher's intention, that is, the self-born wisdom, its nature abides without difference from all phenomena included in samsara and nirvana. Second, in the determination, Vimalamitra explained the four natures of the teacher. In the commentary it says: The essence of supreme enlightenment, and the play of all phenomena.
