After that, the second is the continuum of the path, which is explained by "making the continuum of the cause free from sudden defilements," and so on. The meaning of this is, as stated in the Three Stages: "The three aspects of wisdom, show the arising of the five minds." Therefore, the nature of the path arises through the five minds. Furthermore, the way the mind arises is: the so-called "mind arising from the ground of the base" refers to arising from a state where one has not entered any vehicle; the so-called "mind arising from the ground of the path" refers to entering vehicles such as the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, abandoning that path halfway, and entering this path; the so-called "mind arising from the ground of the fruit" refers to practicing between the fruits of the lower vehicles, and then entering this mantra path. It is said that the way the mind arises is: seeing the faults of the lower vehicles, seeing the virtues of the higher vehicles, and initially generating the desire to enter, the mind that arises in a fluctuating manner is the fluctuating bodhicitta; hoping to attain the virtues of that vehicle is the aspirational bodhicitta; not just aspiring, but entering into it, is the entering bodhicitta; abiding in it is the abiding bodhicitta; attaining its fruit is the ultimate bodhicitta. That is to say, the common five minds of the three aspects of wisdom are those of the lower vehicles, and the supreme five minds are the minds that enter this unsurpassed vehicle. Moreover, by saying "arisen or has arisen," it is explained that there is one that arises simultaneously, that is, "arisen or has arisen," what is that? As stated in the Determination of the Three Vows: "Realization and liberation are simultaneous, like Indrabhuti." That is how it is. It is said that arising is gradual. The definition is easy to understand. There are two classifications, among which "Unsurpassed Yoga is a special path, a near path or a means continuum" refers to: the so-called special path, although in Madhyamaka and other Mahayana schools it is said that the two truths are inseparable, the meaning of true inseparability has not been experienced, because there is no difference in the bliss of great bliss. The so-called near path also refers to the fact that once one enters this path, there is no need to show other vehicles, and this path alone can be combined with the fruit. The so-called means continuum also refers to the fact that in other vehicles, the three poisons of desire, hatred, and ignorance are regarded as things to be abandoned, but here, they are nailed down with the view of non-duality, desire is transformed into bliss and emptiness, and hatred is transformed into clarity and emptiness.

Looking at delusion as the essence of emptiness, the wonderful method of attaining Buddhahood in one lifetime by relying on the method of transforming the three poisons into the path is: Sakya Pandita's "Distinguishing the Three Vows" states: "The seed sown by mantra ripens the crop in one day. If one has the wisdom of the Vajrayana path, one will attain Buddhahood in this very life." Other than that, the so-called four vehicles of definite emergence are: the vehicle of gods and humans definitely emerges from the lower realms; the vehicle of hearers and solitary realizers definitely emerges from samsara; and the vehicle of bodhisattvas definitely emerges from the two extremes. The path of the three outer tantras is said to be a long path in this context. Generally, since it is the mantra path, it is a near path. However, since those must enter this path of the unsurpassable, it is said to be a long path in relation to this vehicle. That is also because the basis and result are both related to the activity of knowing and attaining. The meaning of etc. is that the path continuum is related downwards to being known as the basis, and related upwards to being attained as the result, and therefore exists in the activity between the two. If the special paths are divided, there are two: the path of means and the path of liberation. "The path of liberation is completely shown as means." Therefore, the path of means is: "The wonderful method of liberation from the lower realms." It means that even if one engages in binding actions, it is amazing to attain the result of liberation. This is mainly through the extraordinary conduct of the special asceticism of means, which quickly accomplishes the result. The so-called special of mainly through means, even though the path of liberation also possesses both means and wisdom, here, in order to mainly show means, it is said to be the special of mainly through means. Therefore, it is called the conduct of asceticism. Without abandoning the three poisons, it is the asceticism of the conduct of trampling. For example, as it is said in the tantra: "If water enters the ear, it should also be removed with water." Just as pouring water in again and taking it out, it will come out. Regarding the three poisons, if one applies them with the confidence of the view of asceticism, not only will it not bind, but it will quickly show the result of liberation. For example, just as the alchemy of makṣika (藏文:མཀྵི་ཀ་,梵文天城体:मक्षिका,梵文罗马拟音:makṣika,汉语字面意思:pyrite) transforms iron ore into gold in an instant. This is saying that makṣika (藏文:མཀྵི་ཀ་,梵文天城体:मक्षिका,梵文罗马拟音:makṣika,汉语字面意思:pyrite) is the alchemy of mercury.
