Therefore, this exemplifies both benefit and risk. One who is well-versed in the alchemy of mercury can transform iron into gold through five stages. As it is said: "Smoke and crackling sounds, and the stretching of a frog, trembling and not trembling, are the five stages of mercury." Like that. If someone who does not understand alchemy attempts it, because fire is the enemy of mercury, not only will iron not turn into gold, but also the great element of mercury will be wasted. Similarly, if someone without the proper method engages in the practice of union and liberation, not only will they not attain the fruit of liberation, but there is also a great danger of falling into the lower realms. As it is said: "Hatred leads to rebirth in hell, attachment leads to becoming a hungry ghost, and ignorance mostly leads to becoming an animal."

The wisdom of earth-joy arises. Likewise, in the throat, heart, and navel, that is, in the four chakras, cultivating the wisdom of bliss is the path of the upper gate of the means. It has two aspects: common and distinct. The distinct one is the direct teaching of chapter thirteen, just as it is. Secondly, the lower gate of the means is based on the two secrets of the lower gate, and so on. That is, "Approach and near approach, practice and great practice." Thus, it is taught through the four branches of approach and practice. Seeking a consort with characteristics, examination, etc., are branches of approach. Urged by the four symbols, entering into samadhi through the four mudras and the three-fold awareness is near approach. Thus, as the bodhicitta gradually descends to the crown, throat, heart, and navel, experiencing the wisdom of co-emergent reality through the practice of drawing down and holding, in the order of the four joys, is a branch of practice. Then, through the practice of reversing and pervading the bodhicitta, the red and white mix, and from the tip of the Kāmukha at the source of the consort's channel, it reverses upwards again, pervading from the navel to the chakra of the crown, pervading the entire body with channels. The bodhicitta pervades all channels. The wisdom of bliss pervades all of that, and experiencing the wisdom of self-nature co-emergence is a branch of great practice. In an instant, the wisdom of bliss and emptiness arises forcefully, and the means to complete the path in one go is instantaneous. As it is said in the extensive text: "The spontaneously accomplished perfections are bestowed by the supreme secret empowerment." Thus it is said. Secondly, the path of liberation is: In the mandala of complete wisdom, through the combination of hearing, contemplation, and meditation, self-arisen, spontaneous accomplishment is achieved. Thus, it is mainly through the three aspects of wisdom, and so on. Although there are differences in the means on this path, the main emphasis is on establishing wisdom. First, with the wisdom of hearing, the limits of the scriptures are defined, and the ocean of hearing is accumulated. With the wisdom of contemplation, the meaning of what has been heard is examined through contemplation. As it is said: "Like gold that has been burned, cut, and polished, examine well and take my words, not just out of respect." Having established it in this way, with the wisdom of meditation, the nature of mind is placed in its true meaning, without alteration, causing one's own continuum

It is said that one's own bonds are naturally released, and one is liberated in the expanse of Dharmata. For example, there is a precious gem called "Kotubha," which is similar to an example of a low-risk path to liberation. If this gem is placed together with ordinary stones, it will not immediately become a gem, but after some time, It will become similar to a gem. Therefore, although this path to liberation is not as rapid as other expedient paths, in the end, there is no difference in combining with the fruition. In terms of distinctions, the Lamrim states, "Length has gradual and sudden aspects." The meaning of "length" is that this path to liberation is a long road, which is further divided into gradual and sudden. There are also beings whose faculties can integrate all realization and practice into one, achieving it all at once, which is called sudden, such as King Indrabhuti, who attained liberation at the time of empowerment. Gradually completing realization and practice is gradual. To explain it a little, it says here, "The form of knowing and entering characteristics, the cause and condition for maturing the fruit, becoming powerful, is known as the realm of the Vidyadhara Victors." Therefore, there are three characteristics. First, the characteristic of knowing as the cause, which is the view, as the Lamrim says, "The meaning of establishing the basis and reasoning." That is, the object to be measured, clinging appearances, etc. Among them, the object to be measured is as the Lamrim says, "Samsara and Nirvana, examine the clinging appearances." And the Pramanavarttika also says, "Measure the two objects of imputation." Therefore, the clinging to samsara and nirvana, along with the clinging to reality and superimposition, is the object to be measured. Then, can't samsara and nirvana be measured? They cannot be measured. Because samsara is illusory and sudden, it cannot be measured. Nirvana is beyond the realm of consciousness, so it cannot be established as an object to be measured. The Pramanavarttika says, "Nirvana is not an object of experience, how can it be an object of measurement?" Second, the reasoning of the measurer, as the Lamrim says, "Its five entities, aspects, and words." Therefore, there are three, namely the five entities that appeared earlier, the five aspects that followed, and the reasoning of the five words. First, the Dharmakaya of the Teacher communicates to the retinue, the ocean of wisdom, with the word of unborn meaning, and the Sambhogakaya communicates to the ocean of maturing retinue with the word of intention.
