On the forehead, A (Tibetan: ཨཱ་ད།). Extend the ring finger and place it on the right back of the ear, reciting Samata (Tibetan: ས་མ་ཏཱ།). Extend the thumb and place it on the back of the head, reciting Pratyabeksha (Tibetan: པྲ་ཏྱ་བེཀྵ།). Extend the little finger and place it on the left back of the ear, reciting Kritya Anushtha (Tibetan: ཀྲྀཏྱ་ཨ་ནུཥྛ་). Similarly, for the other four families, first recite their respective mantras and place the mudra on the crown of the head. Whatever the mantra and mudra of the center, Achala will appear in the position of the family lord. So, what is the distinction of the families here? In the Ash Tantra, it says: Achala with consort, Vajradhara is shown as the mudra. Maitreya and Kshitigarbha are the same. Others are their own mudras, always spoken to Yamantaka. Great Sage, holder of Vajra, is the great hero separated from the moon. Therefore, Achala father and mother, Kriya father and mother, the hero separated from the moon, the six great sages, the ten deities of the Vajra family are headed by Achala as the main deity, which is the meaning of the first and last two lines of the scripture. Kshitigarbha, Maitreya, Yamantaka each with their consorts, are the eight Tathagata family deities, with Vairocana as the main deity, which is the meaning of the third and fifth lines of the scripture. From the implication of these, the families of other deities can also be known. By knowing that Achala is of the Vajra family, it is known that Vairocana is of the Tathagata family, Ratnasambhava is of the Ratna family, Amitabha is of the Padma family, and Amoghasiddhi is of the Karma family. By the implication that Kshitigarbha and Maitreya are of the Tathagata family, it is known that Akashagarbha and Sarvanivaranaviskambhin are of the Ratna family, Avalokiteshvara and Samantabhadra are of the Padma family, and Vajrapani and Manjushri are of the Karma family. By the implication that Yamantaka is of the Tathagata family, it is known that Mahabala is of the Ratna family, Hayagriva is of the Padma family, and Kilaya is of the Karma family, which is the meaning of "others are their own mudras." Here, Nyangtikpa says that the deities of the east and southeast are Achala, considering Kshitigarbha and Maitreya to be of the Vajra family, "Maitreya and Kshitigarbha are the same," which refers to the Vajra family of the previous line, which seems to be slightly mistaken. Also, Droltikpa says, inviting the form of the empowerment deity Samantabhadra father and mother, the non-dual bodhicitta water flows down to the five places on the head, bestowing empowerment.

What is being done is: From then on, do the great lords of the Tathagatas of the ten directions and four times, think of "collecting the wisdom and blessings of the great lords"? The second is the blessing: On the crown of the heads of the deities, in the skull cavity, the white Oṃ syllable (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Oṃ) resides on the moon. In the center of the throat, the red Āḥ syllable (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Āḥ) resides on the lotus. In front of the heart center, the blue Hūṃ syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hūṃ) resides on the sun. The light of these three arouses the mind-streams of the Buddhas. Invite countless mandalas of the Three Vajras and dissolve them separately. From the melting light mass of the three syllables, white Vairocana, holding a wheel, arises on the crown of the head. Red Amitabha, holding a lotus, arises in the throat. Blue Akshobhya, holding a vajra, arises in the heart. Visualize that all three are adorned with the attire of the Sambhogakaya. The vajra mudra touches each place, and recite the blessing mantra "Oṃ Sarva Tathāgata Mahākāya (Tibetan: ༀ་སརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ཡ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ sarva tathāgata mahākāya, Chinese literal meaning: Oṃ, all, thus-gone, great body)" and "Vāka (Tibetan: ཝཱ་ཀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: vāka, Chinese literal meaning: Speech)" and "Citta (Tibetan: ཙིཏྟ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: citta, Chinese literal meaning: Mind)", and generate the pride of thinking, "I am the nature of the Three Vajras of all the Tathagatas." Furthermore, in the Tantra it says: From the syllables pervading the three places, a great multitude of radiating light, collecting and dedicating the blessings and splendor of the three realms. The Three Vajras of self-nature reside, manifesting as self-appearance in the manner of two causes. It also says: In the navel and secret place, from the two syllables residing on the moon, with the mantras of Anurāga (Tibetan: ཨ་ནུ་རཱ་ག་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: anurāga, Chinese literal meaning: Love) and Pūja (Tibetan: པཱུ་ཛ, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: pūja, Chinese literal meaning: Offering), generate the two deities of merit and activity as before. Among them it says: The two navels are on the moon, the blue-green syllable Svāhā (Tibetan: སྭཱ་ཧཱ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: Svāhā) itself. From the corresponding light, merit arises, possessing the splendor of complete limbs. If so, it contradicts the explanation of meditating on the nine deities of the remaining limbs, because eleven deities will arise. If you say so, there is no fault. Because merit and activity are the accompaniment of body, speech, and mind, so at the time of practicing the path, meditate on them as the remaining deities, as the lamas have said, it is reasonable. As it says in the Lamrim: Meditate on the wisdom hero in one place, in the three places of head, throat, and mind, meditate on the blessing Three Vajras, the five wisdoms of the five places of the head, adorned with the freedom of perfecting the five wisdoms. Therefore, in short, each of the forty-two deities of the mandala also has the remaining
