May my awareness, self-manifesting, be without a field of activity. May all beings attain such a state. Thus it is said. Secondly, regarding the reason of contradictory terms, there is also its meaning and determination. Firstly, showing that the meaning of the proposition and the meaning of the terms of the reason contradict each other in terms of convention is the reason of contradictory terms. Secondly, it is to show the sign of the knower in reverse. The nature of mind, the subject of the thesis, is nothing at all because it is not truly established in any way, but because it is self-manifesting without ceasing in appearance, it is everything. That sign is established by valid cognition, because it changes according to how it is examined and thought about, therefore, in the essence of all phenomena, the nature of reality is self-manifesting. Thus, as it is said in the former, because it symbolizes everything, the mind-dharma is nothing at all. Therefore, because what is not is all, everything is spontaneously accomplished. Thus it is said. The necessity of teaching in this way is to liberate from the attachment of distinguishing between "is" and "is not" and to realize the meaning of impartiality. As it is said in that very text, for the dharma that transcends all extremes, because no extreme is to be abandoned, it is not shown as "this is this." It is difficult to indicate one's own essence. However, it is for the sake of liberating from attachment to "is" and "is not." Thus it is said. Thirdly, regarding the philosophical tenets, there are the essence, the method of searching, the measure of realization, and the abandonment of incidental disputes. Firstly, the proposition established by reason is a truth that is inseparable and devoid of a field of activity. As it is said in the Differentiation, the two kinds of excellence are of inseparable meaning, although they are indicated by names and numbers, in essence, they are beyond speech and thought. Thus it is said. Secondly, it should be sought through the three stainless wisdoms, without touching the extremes of imputation such as existence and non-existence. As it is said in the Stages of the Path, if one searches from existence, it is imputation, and one will fall into eight imputations. If one searches from non-existence, it is defamation, and one will fall into ten places of defamation. If one searches from both existence and non-existence, then that is not taught in the scriptures. Thus it is said. In this very text, it is also said, the nature of mind is the complete Buddha, do not seek the Buddha elsewhere. Thus it is said. In the Differentiation, it is also said, beings who search elsewhere and are deluded, even if shown, do not hear, even if symbolized, do not see, therefore, searching in self and other will not attain Buddhahood. Thus it is said. Thirdly, the essence of the established philosophical view is the nature of reality itself.

From recognizing one's own nature, wisdom manifests in the absence of objects. The Stages of the Path states: Like reflections in a clear ocean, without taking sound as an object, self-awareness directly perceives without an object, self-luminous, free from the three, unwavering, whatever is definitely settled, is the culmination of the view based on hearing and thinking. Fourth, refuting disputes: In contaminated states, is the self-nature of reality seen or not seen? If it is the first, then it follows that it is uncontaminated, because the self-nature has been directly realized, like the empowerment of long life. If you accept this, then the contaminated state diminishes. The Compendium of Sutra Meanings states: These are contaminated meditations, the non-dual, objectless, is not seen. If it is the second, then it contradicts the teachings of Garab, which state: In the uncommon, in the self-nature, when self-awareness directly manifests, self-appearance is free from extremes and liberated from continuity. And "without taking sound as an object." Because it speaks of seeing the self-nature. The answer to this is: Refutation, Establishment, Abandonment, three. The first is: Some earlier scholars say that the self-nature of the view is not seen in contaminated states, let alone in the three uncontaminated paths, because it is the domain of the Buddhas alone. The Collected Intentions states: This Dharma is profound and difficult to see, and it is also difficult to realize, even those who dwell on the ultimate ground do not see it. So they say. If this is the case, then the three uncontaminated paths would also become contaminated, because wherever the self-nature of reality is not seen, it is pervaded by the non-abandonment of afflictive obscurations, and driven by their actions, one wanders and transmigrates in the three realms. It cannot be accepted, because the Stages of the Path states: The great lineage of those who have exhausted all defilements, no matter how they practice, will not regress. This is harmful. And the meaning of the Collected Intentions is also, as stated by the great master Delightful Gone, it refers to that which has not become the union of the four times, and not to the non-seeing of the self-nature of reality. Furthermore, the wise Snarton says: It is reasonable to see the self-nature of reality in contaminated states, if it is not so, then the reason of direct perception will become meaningless. However, because practice increases the power, it is not a complete realization of the power, like the fire of wood. This statement is also not seen as reasonable, because the contaminated view and the self-nature of reality are both manifest.
