The sixteen consorts of the sixteen realms of Dharma, totaling thirty-two, are the excellent marks. The eighty deities who adorn the sixteen bodhisattvas with the symbols of the five wisdoms and the five families are the minor marks. The General Sutra says: Because the flowers of the excellent marks are adorned with the fruits of the minor marks, they are completely adorned by the assembly of the Buddha's children. Here, the head ornaments of the sixteen mothers are not mentioned, because they symbolize the realm of Dharma. If one asks, how can those become ornaments? The answer is: Just as the retinue and the ornaments of the retinue are complete, and the nature of the main deity is also displayed, so it is beautiful and complete. The second is: The root of the four wheels, that is, the thirty-two channels of the crown chakra are the excellent marks, and the sixteen of the throat chakra. The four main channels of the heart chakra. Subtracting the four empty channels from the sixty-four channels of the navel chakra, that is, sixty channels, so eighty are the minor marks. That is also according to what is said in the Tantra: The four places of sound and speech, with the distinction of three and three, facing each other, become forty-two. The third is: Counting the joy of the teacher, father and mother, when they are playing, that is, the sixteen joys of the father and the sixteen joys of the mother, totaling thirty-two, are the excellent marks. Each joy of the father also has the taste of the five wisdoms, so eighty are the minor marks. As it says in the Ocean Sutra: The bliss of Āli and Kāli, know that they are one without mixing with each other. Sixteen: The two tastes (or faces) have excellent marks, and one side has five wisdoms. The eighty kinds of forbearance and so on are superior to the cause. If one thinks: Why are the inner and secret marks and examples the nature of the channels and essences, how can they become ornaments? The answer is: In the Sambhogakaya, the channels and essences are completely pure, becoming the nature of great bliss, with the same taste, which is the most excellent of ornaments, as Yung Tika Pa said. Thus, the wheels on the hands and feet, etc., are also present in the Nirmanakaya, etc., so they are common. The three kinds of excellent marks and minor marks, inner, outer, and secret, are the superior qualities of the teacher and the expounder, so they are special. The Nirmanakaya's is: In all the inconceivable places, the body, speech, and mind appear in various forms, which is the source of all manifestations, and the transformations are inconceivable and immeasurable.

Such is the manifestation. As it is said in the Gaṇḍavyūha Sūtra: In a single pore, immeasurable and countless lands, various shapes and different, not mixed, always abide. And in the Inconceivable Secret Sutra, it says: Peaceful Wisdom, as far as the sky extends, so far does the body of the Tathagata extend. And so on, extensively spoken. Secondly, the feet of skillful means and wisdom, etc., skillful means is great compassion, and wisdom is the symbol of the wisdom of emptiness, the two feet represent the father and mother both sitting in equal lotus posture and embracing. In the translation of Thar Lo, it says: The feet of skillful means and wisdom are equally bound in lotus posture, abiding in equipoise. Thus, it is not like a standing posture, but shows that both are in lotus posture. Regarding the lotus posture, the lamas say that the lotus posture of the six lineages is the vajra lotus posture, and the mother is the lotus lotus posture. The speaker, the five lineages, the father is the equal or complete lotus posture, and the mother is the ascetic lotus posture, embracing from the left side. Thirdly, the six wisdoms, etc., in order to symbolize that the five wisdoms are self-born wisdom and possess six wisdoms, there are six hands, and in order to symbolize that they benefit sentient beings with this, they hold six implements, namely the five families are the five vajras, etc., which are symbols of the five wisdoms, and the bell, which is the mudra of the Dharmadhatu. As it is said in the Great Tantra of Magical Play: The nature of the six wisdoms, the sign of the precious blazing hand seal, vajra, wheel, jewel, bell, lotus, sword, blazing. Fourthly, body, speech, and mind, etc., body is emptiness, speech is signlessness, and mind is wishlessness, these three are beyond the realm of consciousness, so they are inconceivable. The symbols of these three are also shown in the colors of white, red, and blue on the head, respectively. These are to extensively show the perfect teacher, as it is said in the Tantra: In the center of the wheel, above the fearless, the lord Samantabhadra to the retinue, at the time of showing the all-arising illusion, the immovable king abides in front. Therefore, the teacher of the tantra is the sixth family Samantabhadra, and the speaker is, in general,
