Because it is the net on the ground, or, because the self-knowing Bodhicitta is superior and inseparable, it pervades and connects all of samsara and nirvana, therefore it is called the net. As the Lama said: The empty and solitary mind, without caste, color, and shape, manifests everything from nothing, unborn and arising various illusions. The various mandalas of the Buddhas are also the great illusions of the mind. Thus, for the base and the result, As it is said in Vajrasattva Mayajala, the path related to the actions of knowledge acquisition, and the textual collection of treatises that explain it, are also named accordingly. As stated in the "Extensive Bondage Explanation": "Mayajala Vajra Heart." And, at the end of this tantra, it is said: "The noble King of Thought, Vajrasattva Mayajala." So, what does "noble King of Thought" mean? This is also explained in passing: "Noble" is because this tantra is superior to the tantras of other vehicles by eight qualities, and "Thought" refers to all tantras that are means of accomplishing common and supreme siddhis, and this tantra is the most supreme among them, therefore it is called the "King." The explanation in "Iron Hook" says: "In order to make the mind certain of the true meaning being explained, it is considered to be true thought." The second type, named from greatness, is the general collection of teachings. As the Vajra says: "The unspoken famous doctrine, without slander, is spoken from the mouth of the Buddha, is the immaculate teaching, is the general collection of actions and wisdom, because it is complete and perfect, therefore it is the teaching, is the self-nature of the overall doctrine, because it is the self-nature of all things, therefore it does not abide in one or many, but is a continuous stream of individual teachings like the ocean, it is taught here, it is taught by this, therefore it is taught, all meanings are completely fulfilled in this, therefore it is said to be the general collection of teachings." Therefore, the teachings of the extensive action section are the three categories of the action section, the teachings of the wisdom deity are the three categories of the outer tantra section, and the teachings of the actionless perfection are the three categories of the inner tantra section. Thus, the meaning and fruit of all vehicles are gathered here, and arise from this, therefore it is the general collection of teachings. As it says itself: "It is the general collection of characteristics and all tantras." The third type, named from the nature of the meaning itself, is the

这是写在萨迦派文集开头的题目。在旧译经典中,藏语是:“秘密藏续,真如决定”。 以上没有提到两种语言。在塔洛的译本中,翻译为“吉祥秘密藏续,真如彻底决定大续”。翻译时提到了两种语言。如印度梵文版本所示:Śrī Guhyagarbha Tattvaviniścaya Mahātantra Nāma(梵文天城体:श्रीगुह्यगर्भतत्तवविनिश्चयमहातन्त्रनाम;梵文罗马拟音:Śrī Guhyagarbha Tattvaviniścaya Mahātantra Nāma;汉语字面意思:吉祥秘密藏续,真如决定大续)。

This is the title written at the beginning of the Sa-bam collection. In the early translations, the Tibetan is: "Secret Essence, Suchness Determined." The above does not mention two languages. In Tharlo's translation, it is translated as "Glorious Secret Essence, Great Tantra of Thoroughly Determining Suchness." The translation mentions both languages. As shown in the Indian Sanskrit version: Śrī Guhyagarbha Tattvaviniścaya Mahātantra Nāma (श्रीगुह्यगर्भतत्तवविनिश्चयमहातन्त्रनाम; Śrī Guhyagarbha Tattvaviniścaya Mahātantra Nāma; Meaning: Glorious Secret Essence, Great Tantra of Thoroughly Determining Suchness). Therefore, in the Sakya Natang collection, Tsaktsa's and Nyanglen's commentaries, etc., the translation of "Suchness Determined" into Sanskrit is written as "Tathāyahi Na" (तथा यहि न; Tathāyahi Na; Meaning: Thus, because, not). This is not the title of the Indian Sanskrit version, so it is incorrect. But in Longchen Rabjampa's commentary, the Indian language is "Guhyagarbha Tattvaviniścaya" (गुह्यगर्भतत्तवविनिश्चय; Guhyagarbha Tattvaviniścaya; Meaning: Secret Essence, Suchness Determined), which is consistent with the Indian Sanskrit version, so it is correct. After explaining the title in this way, explaining its meaning includes: the necessity of the opening statement, the brief meaning of the title, the meaning of the words, and the debate and answers. The first point is: Just as from the name "vase," one understands the object that can achieve the function of abdominal distension, bottom contraction, and water storage. Relying on seeing or hearing the title, those with superior faculties understand the meaning of the scripture, those with intermediate faculties grasp the categories of meaning, and even those with inferior faculties can easily find the scripture like a medicine label, which is the necessity. The second point is: The four words secret, essence, suchness, and determination, respectively indicate the nature, greatness, characteristic, and determined meaning of the tantra. As stated in the Commentary on the Short Commentary: "In order to explain the nature, greatness, characteristic, and meaning of this tantra, it is briefly determined from the Great Tantra of the Net of Illusion. The nature is called secret, greatness is the meaning of essence, suchness is the characteristic, and determination briefly explains the determined meaning. Thus, the four aspects briefly explain the general meaning." From this, the way of understanding is: difficult to understand, essence condensed, distinguished from other characteristics, understood as definitive rather than provisional, without doubt. Consistent with the way of teaching, one can also understand the nature and greatness of the tantra, etc. The third point is: According to the oral instructions of the lineage of gurus, from the outside, it is explained in conjunction with the path of wisdom and liberation; from the inside, it is explained in conjunction with the generation stage on the path of skillful means.
