Because it becomes existent, one attains the state of freedom from elaboration. According to the second view, since it is the result established by the ultimate, then the conventional itself becomes the object of non-deception. Answer: Not abandoning the essence and the transformation not being established is the cause of self-nature, just like crystal containing fire. If, because of not abandoning the essence of the conventional, the elaboration of the ultimate is not prevented, then, just like that, does the coldness of the crystal become established as the cause of the self-nature of fire? If it is not established, then the causes and giving of the sun having no fault and the sky having no obscuration become meaningless, because the causeless does not rely on conditions. Thus it is said. If it is established, because the essence of fire is not abandoned, then the coldness of the crystal does not prevent the manifest function of burning, thus one raises the objection. Third, regarding the inseparability of the two truths, there are four aspects: essence, meaning of words, difference, and establishment. First, the nature of mind that does not touch any extreme, the ultimate truth that is spontaneously accomplished as the cause of the self-nature of the seven treasures, and its own power appearing as the mandala of the vessel and content, body and wisdom, these two are the conventional truth. Although the expressing words occur earlier or later, the essence of the expressed meaning abides in equality, so the two truths are inseparable, beyond the realm of the mind. To establish it, there are three, among which the scriptural authority is: From this very text it says: Since the two truths are inseparable, the way of illusory joy is not different. And in the extensive text it says: Ultimate and conventional are inseparable, the unconditioned itself appears as the conditioned, the appearance of the conditioned is vajra itself. The pith instruction is, in the Stages of the Path it says: Without acting like a king, without making adornments, the self-nature is naturally inseparable. The reasoning is, in the Tara commentary it says: Negating what is not by relying on examples, and establishing what is by relying on examples, thus it is said. First, just like intertwined black and white threads, because appearance and emptiness do not alternate, just like a vase and a woolen cloth, because there is no difference, just like the existent horn of a cow and the non-existent horn of a rabbit, because appearance and emptiness are not different, therefore inseparability is established. Second, inseparability is established by the four examples of gold and the yellowness of gold, jade and the blueness of jade, the ocean and the waves of the ocean, and space and the rainbow.

I, most of the previous masters such as Gyalwa Yung, consider that non-duality is established by four reasons: because the two truths have no inherent good or bad nature, because their essence is indivisible, because their locations are not different, and because there is no temporal priority or posteriority. Here, if it is established on a single phenomenon of common appearance, then the pot is the subject, it is a non-dual truth, because it does not fall into either the side of appearance or emptiness. If it is said that the reason is not established, then does the pot fall into the side of appearance or the side of emptiness? If it is like the former, then is this appearance truly real and not empty, or is it empty? If it is empty, then the claim of falling into the side of appearance is ruined; if it is not empty, then the appearance becomes permanent and substantial. If you accept this, as the General Sutra says, "All that is made is impermanent." Thus, the destruction of conditioned things is clear, because when the pot is destroyed by other things, it abandons its own state and becomes impermanent. Likewise, in the Compendium of All it says, "For example, from the substance of a stone, having been ground or made into flour, having been moved in the face of the wind, it has no inherent nature whatsoever." Furthermore, if it falls into the side of emptiness, then the appearance of the pot is not established. If you accept this, then the appearance of the pot is clear. If you say that even if it does not fall into either the side of appearance or emptiness, it is not a non-dual truth, then what is it? Wherever it does not fall into either the side of appearance or emptiness, it is invariably non-dual, like an illusory horse or cow. Therefore, without abandoning appearance, one is liberated from the extreme of appearance; without abandoning emptiness, one does not grasp the extreme of emptiness; without abandoning both, one is liberated from the extreme of grasping both. In short, even the expression "non-dual" is merely stated to refute the clinging to appearance and emptiness as separate entities, but in reality, because it is also free from clinging to non-duality, it is called being beyond the realm of mental activity. As it says in this very sutra, "A is neither empty nor non-empty, the Middle Way also has no object." Also, in the Stages of the Path it says, "That is only for the sake of dissolving clinging to names, beyond the two expressions of thought and speech." Secondly, from the word "Vibheda," "Bheda" means difference, and "Vi" is a negative particle, because it does not belong to either the category of appearance or emptiness, hence it means that there is no difference to be made, it is not like a mutual combination, but rather the characteristic of the two dharmas not abandoning each other.
