If it is said that just as wood is obscured, so too are flesh and so on, then since there is no particular that does not depend on the general, the pervasion is admitted. Even so, the exceeding conventional, the deluded appearance, will not become a false cognition, because the pervading conventional, the general characteristic, is empty of the elaborations of truth. For example, although the way water appears to humans and pus appears to hungry ghosts is different, the moistness of the base pervades both. Furthermore, is the appearance of the exceeding conventional in this way, which is considered to be the mandala of the deities, a fabrication that never existed, or is it something that is inherently established? If asked, here, the latter is preferred. If it were a fabrication, since fabrication is unreal and false, it would be devoid of all functional capacity. Therefore, meditating on the yoga of the deity of the path would become meaningless, which is unreasonable. Even so, if these phenomena that appear as characteristics are already established as the pure mandala of the deities from the beginning, like gold salagrama, since they do not depend on other causes and conditions, then it would be excessive to depend even on the consciousness that generates the deities. If you say so, then,

སྐྱེད། Thus it is said. The Omniscient Dharma Lord said: From the beginning, it is the nature of the mandala, and it is revealed by knowing it as such. It does not establish what is not established. Thus it is said. The reason is: The aggregates, etc., are naturally established as the mandala of the deities, because they can manifest the form body of perfect nature, just as silver naturally exists in silver ore. Therefore, nature will not become conditioned either, it is not like establishing something that does not exist through the path, but because the self-nature is manifested, it is only the purification of delusion and attachment. For example, it depends on the medicine that cures the eye disease of seeing a yellow conch, it is not like establishing that the white of the conch does not exist. Secondly, regarding the ultimate truth, there are four aspects: essence, meaning, classification, and establishment. The first has the essence of mere ultimate truth, and the essence of further ultimate truth. The first is: The nature of all phenomena, unborn, free from the characteristics of elaboration. The second is: Awareness free from elaboration, and appearance spontaneously accomplished as the cause of the essence. The scriptural authority to prove it is: From this very text: The nature of mind without a basis is neither male nor female nor hermaphrodite, without characteristics, without lineage, without color, without shape, not a place, not anything. Suchness, the realm of reality, is wisdom, the cause of all mudras of means. Thus it is said. The instruction is: From the Jewel Net Sutra: Things are non-existent in themselves, beyond the realm of thought and speech of conceptualization. Thus it is said. In terms of reasoning, there is establishing freedom from elaboration, and establishing that it itself is spontaneously accomplished as the cause of the essence of appearance. The first is: In the commentary on the eye, four reasons for establishing non-arising are stated: The pot is the subject, it is truly without self-nature, because it is established as unborn by four reasons. What are the four? Because it is not born from cause and condition, nor does it suddenly arise in time, nor is it done by an agent, nor is such a born object established. Thus, among the four, the first is not established, if it is said that all things are born from cause and condition, then from which of the four do things arise: self, other, both, or without cause? If it is said that it arises from self, then the self is established.
