Arrows and other weapons. Generating virtuous thoughts towards deities, regarding them as precious. Thus it is said. Even so, someone might say: What appears as water to me may not appear to you, because it is uncertain. The fact that you and I both perceive something similarly because we are gathered together in agreement is not contradictory. For example, when two people with jaundice both see a white conch shell as yellow, it is not that the conch shell is yellow and that is why they see it the same way. Rather, it is because they have the same type of illness that they perceive it in the same way. Furthermore, agreement on a shared object of knowledge and shared three times is not contradictory, but agreement on a distinct object of knowledge and the sequence of the three times is not possible. For example, although two pretas may both see water as pus and blood, the way humans and pretas see things is different. For a distinct object of knowledge, the nature of the appearance is not fixed. Although the shared time is definitely perceived as the present moment of the three times, the sequence of the three times is not fixed. For example, the clay of the past, the pottery of the present, and the shards of the future do not have a fixed nature of appearance. For these reasons, it is established that awareness is a magical illusion. As it says in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "Just as a magician conjures forms, horses, elephants, chariots, and various things, but there is nothing that appears as it truly is, all phenomena should be understood in the same way." Thus it is said. Secondly, the term "Sāṁvṛtta-satya" means conventional truth. "Vṛ" means to cover and conceal. According to the etymological meaning, the appearance of the conceptualized grasping at truth, which is produced by non-afflicted ignorance, is conventional. Because it grasps it as true, it is conventional truth. The subsequent text of this sutra says: "The appearance of conceptual thought, in all aspects, is considered conventional." And in the Madhyamakavatara it says: "Because ignorance by its nature obscures, it is conventional, and whatever is made up and appears as true because of it, that is what the Conqueror called conventional truth." Thus it is said. Thirdly, the Madhyamikas divide conventional truth into two types: the valid conventional, which is not deceptive in terms of conventions, and the false conventional, which is deceptive. In the Two Truths it says: "Although appearances are similar, their functions differ, because of the ability and inability to perform, the distinction is made between true and untrue, this is the difference of the conventional." Thus it is said.
