It is not like that. Because after that, it is said to be divided into four by dividing into two: result and cause. If it is said that it is only the difference of classification and summarization, and there is no fault, then it is the same for the nine levels. These six tantras, inner and outer, are included in the Result Vehicle. That is also included in the Buddha's Vehicle, so here too, it is a difference of classification and summarization. If you say that the vehicle of gods and humans is not included, there is no fault, because the vehicle of gods and humans is the vehicle of higher realms. The Vajra Heart Commentary summarizes it into three, which refers to the vehicle of liberation. Therefore, your clinging to only three vehicles is just being confused about the meaning of the Lankavatara Sutra, which says, 'Vehicles are inconceivable,' and so on. Furthermore, to reject the outer translated tantras because the terms of Anu and Ati do not appear in them is to turn into a praise for the unskilled. Because the Buddha makes distinctions between the scriptures based on the disciples to be tamed, it is a general rule that the terms and explanations of the higher ones do not appear in detail in the lower ones. For example, in the Vinaya Pitaka of the Hearers, there is no Paramita Vehicle, and within that, there is no Outer Tantra, and within those, there are no terms of Guhyasamaja and so on. Therefore, the very fact that the terms and explanations of Anu and Ati do not appear in detail in Guhyasamaja and so on establishes that Dzogchen is the pinnacle of all vehicles. Enough of elaboration. Second, regarding treatises. There are two types: general presentation of classification and specific identification of the commentaries on this tantra. The first has: definition, meaning of the words, and classification. The first is: mainly motivated by the intention to compose a treatise, any scripture that is compiled to show one's own desired tenets to others, possessing three characteristics is the definition of a pure treatise, and lacking any of those three is the definition of what appears to be a treatise. The three characteristics are: relying on the words of the Buddha and acting as its commentary, being spoken by a mindful person without distraction, and the function is to be in accordance with the path to attain liberation. The Guhyagarbha Tantra says: 'Whatever is done by the Buddha, the teacher, spoken by a mindful person without distraction, in accordance with the path to attain liberation, that is also.'

As the venerable one said, I accept it with the crown of my head. So it is said. Secondly, from the sound of "Shastra," because "Shasana" means taming, and "Traya" means protecting. Therefore, because it possesses the two qualities of taming and protecting, it is called a treatise. As it is said in the "Commentary on Reasoning": It tames all the enemies of afflictions, and protects from the state of evil destinies. Because it possesses the qualities of taming and protecting, it is called a treatise. These two qualities are not found elsewhere. So it is said. Thirdly, there are six distinctions: from the perspective of superior and inferior, from the perspective of function, from the perspective of the author, from the perspective of how it is composed, from the perspective of the meaning of the subject matter, and from the perspective of the teaching being explained. First, as it is said in the covenant of the chapter on the ground of the Bliss Gathering: Treatises are known to be four: meaningless, of little meaning, distorted in meaning, and meaningful. So there are four: meaningless, like the treatise on examining the teeth of crows; of little meaning, like the treatises on the four common sciences; distorted in meaning, like the treatises of the outsiders; and meaningful, like the treatises on the inner science of the Buddhists. In the chapter on the ground, it is explained as nine, as it is said: Meaningless, distorted in meaning, and meaningful; deceitful, devoid of love, abandoning suffering; diligently engaging in listening, debating, and practicing; treatises are of nine kinds. Thus, in three sets of three, the first two of each set are seemingly so, and the last one of each set is a true treatise. Secondly, there are three kinds of treatises: those that gather the vast meaning of the teachings, those that compile the confused, and those that distinguish the profound. In order, they are: The Stages of the Path, The Jewel Net, and The Heart Drop of Vimala, and so on. Thirdly, those that take the words of the Buddha as treatises, such as the five Agamas of the Bliss Gathering composed by Vajradharma, and the five Dharmas of Maitreya, and so on. Those that take the words of the Arhats as treatises, such as the seven treatises of the Abhidharma. Those that take the works composed by the Bodhisattvas who have attained the ground as treatises, such as the treatises of Nubchen, who resides on the ground of the great teacher Padmasambhava and Light Rays. Those that are composed after receiving prophecies from the tutelary deities, and are taken as treatises, such as the treatises of Sekdor and Dignaga. Those that defend their own tenets and refute the tenets of others, and are composed by wise beings, such as the treatises of the four pillars of the heart sons. Fourth, it is a commentary on the teachings themselves.
