Therefore, it is unreasonable to think that way. Also, most of the Zur tradition say, "The root tantra is what the Buddha himself proclaimed, and the explanatory tantra is what the expositor proclaimed." If that were the case, the eighty chapters and so on would also become root tantras, because the beginning of proclaiming the tantra is no different in meaning from the root tantra. Moreover, Sparkhab considers the root tantra itself to have been proclaimed by the expositor, which is harmful. Also, Nyangtikpa says, "The root tantra is what can generate other meanings without relying on other treatises, and the explanatory tantra is what explains the meaning of the tantra through the tantra." This statement is unreasonable. According to the first statement, those who enter gradually would not need to rely on other vehicles of the path stages, because this alone can generate meaning. It cannot be thought that way, because it is clear that "The establishment of the differences of the grounds is the path to enter the secret essence." According to the second statement, this root tantra itself would also become an explanatory tantra, because the eleventh chapter, "The days of practice," is explained in the ninth chapter by "A day is thirty-six," and so on. Rog Deshek Chenpo said, "The root tantra is what first appeared and became the basis for explanation, and the explanatory tantra is what is established elsewhere as the object of the tantra that appeared later and became the explainer." This is a good view. As it is said in the Tantra of the Amazing Cemetery, "What was first proclaimed is the root tantra, what was proclaimed later is the explanatory tantra, what is briefly stated is the root tantra, what is clearly explained is the explanatory tantra." Third, the presentation and refutation of arguments. First, Uru Pelzin said, "Because the view is particularly superior, Dzogchen is the highest. The characteristic of mantra is not the view, what is higher than Madhyamaka?" Second, is it said because all the Mahayana traditions consider the view to be free from elaboration? Is it said because Madhyamaka and mantra both consider the view to be free from elaboration and are the same? According to the first statement, the views of both Cittamatra and Madhyamaka would become indistinguishable, because both are considered to be Sutrayana. If that is the case, it is clear that Cittamatra does not consider freedom from elaboration. According to the second statement, although they agree on the view that the ultimate is free from elaboration and the conventional is merely illusory, that alone cannot determine the view of mantra, because the

The view is: Because it is believed that the two truths, the ultimate truth and the conventional truth, have an inseparable nature, therefore, by the power of this, those things that have the characteristics of conventional illusion are also seen as the nature of completely pure deities. Therefore, you should not think that Tantra does not have a view that surpasses Madhyamaka. For example, if the nature of reality is Buddha, then the phenomenal aspect cannot be non-Buddha, because the essence of the phenomenal aspect is the nature of reality. Because it admits this view of the inseparability of samsara and nirvana. To this, someone might say: Those conventional truths that appear as deities in Tantra are not views that aim at the ultimate truth, but are meditations that aim at the conventional truth. Not considering the conventional truth as the object of the view is because considering the two truths as having good and bad to be accepted and rejected is the view of the Sutra tradition, while in Tantra, the view of equality is accepted without separating from the gap between the two truths. It is also unreasonable to hold that meditation is not a view, etc., and to hold that view and meditation are contradictory, because it is well known to all the wise and accomplished ones that after establishing the view, one meditates on the meaning to be realized. If, as stated in the scriptures, the aggregates, elements, etc., are realized as pure deities from the beginning, this is not a view of abiding in reality. Even if it is not so, if one falsely imputes to it and thinks it is meditation, then it will become a heretical meditation, and no result will arise, just as no matter how hard one tries to turn a stone into gold, it will not become gold. Therefore, the difference in views has been established. Precisely because of this, it is also clear that there is a difference in the order of the vehicles that realize it. All nine vehicles show their respective views, and the highest of all is Atiyoga. Therefore, to slander with dissatisfied words such as "supreme," etc., is merely nonsense and has no meaning. To this, some say: This is not reasonable. In the Vajra Heart Commentary, it says, "The Buddha did not have a fourth and fifth thought." Therefore, since the sutra says that there is no fourth vehicle and fifth doctrine, then the vehicle must be only three. If so, then the Namasamgiti and the Vajra Heart Commentary itself say, "From the liberation of the three vehicles, abide in the fruit of one vehicle." It is also unreasonable to divide it into four. Because it has been determined that there are only three. Someone might say: Dividing into three is the three vehicles of Sravaka, Pratyekabuddha, and Bodhisattva.
