It is only compassion. These differences in vehicle are shown according to the power of greatness and smallness. As it says in the Compendium: Without skillful means, lacking wisdom, one falls into being a Hearer. Secondly, regarding the meaning of "Bodhisattva Vehicle" in this very text, there are essence, definition, and divisions. First, it is the supreme means of realizing that all phenomena are without self and practicing vast benefit for others with great compassion. Secondly, the term Bodhisattva means that because one does not waver in accomplishing unsurpassed enlightenment with great mental strength, one is called a Bodhisattva. Thirdly, there are six aspects, the first of which is the entrance, through the gate of the two truths. As it says in Rangshar: The Bodhisattva Vehicle, the entrance is the two truths. Furthermore, according to the treatises of the Madhyamikas, these appearances that have not been examined or analyzed, although they appear, are known by the mind as being like illusions without true essence, and are grasped by love, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment, and enter into the conventional truth through the manner of engaging and disengaging from virtue and non-virtue. In the ultimate truth, the nature of reality is known as being free from elaboration, and thus one enters through the gate of union. Regarding the two truths, as it says in Heruka Galpo: The Dharma taught by the Buddhas is completely contained in the two truths. That is, from the basis of division, which is merely knowable, one divides it into the conventional truth, which is the manner of appearance, and the ultimate truth, which is the manner of abiding. From that, it is said that the field of the two truths is also established in the appearance of merely knowable things. Therefore, the conventional is a phenomenon with characteristics that has become the object of the mind. From that, it says: Deceptive and having become the object of the mind, is the general characteristic of the conventional. In terms of divisions, that which appears and is able to perform a function, such as a person appearing as a person, is a correct conventional truth; that which appears but is not able to perform a function, such as a stump appearing as a person, is a false conventional truth. From that, it says: The divisions of the conventional are called correct and false conventional truths. The characteristics of each will be explained in detail. That which appears but is not able to perform a function is false; that which appears and is able to perform a function is correct. And in the Two Truths, it says: Although similar in appearance, they differ in function, because of being able to function and not being able to function. The divisions of the conventional, which are correct and not correct, have been made. The ultimate truth is
